Hey Champs! Welcome to yet another episode of the BYJU’S Champions series. In this episode, we will be discussing Electric Current and Its Effects Class 7 Science (Physics) Concepts in detail.
Some of the topics covered by your favourite BYJU’S educator, Saurabh Sir, are as follows:
- Electric circuits
- Circuit diagram
- Heating
- Magnetic effects of electric current
Electric charge is defined as one of the fundamental physical properties of matter that allows it to experience a unique type of force when subjected to the influence of an electromagnetic field. There are two types of charges, positive and negative. Like charges repel each other while unlike charges attract each other. Join this class to learn more in detail about electric current and its effects.

15:58 sir upper one is note glowing due to the incorrect arrangement of battery

1st question answer: current is the flow of charged particles (electrons) in wire.
2nd question answer : because the circuit is open and the electricity doesn't flow that's why the bulb is not glowing.
3rd question answer (oral): Depends on the device you are using .Just like when you use the heater the coil gets hot by conducting electricity and it feels hot ( because it has a heating element), but when you touch the bulb and you feel hot, it is because of the conduction of electricity and thus producing heat. And because of collision of charges with a atom when moving in a wire.
21:14 4th question (oral) : Incandescent bulbs are used old houses or for a decorstion for an occasion, or for fancy lighting.
5th question: (imp) what is an incandescent bulb? : Incandescent bulb is a bulb which were used in houses in old time or are used in restaurants for fancy lighting, and are still being used old houses. it is made up of outer glass coating 2 filaments(supporters) and a tungsten rod in between. why tungsten? its is used because it has a very high melting point.
6th question answer: why we started using CFL and LED bulbs instead of using normal incandescent bulbs?: it is because filament bulb uses too much electricity much that 100 watts but does not give enough light and it produces heat so it is a waste of energy at tis point. We use CFL and LED bulbs because not only they are energy efficient but produces more light than incandescent bulb such at 8 watts 9 watts 10 watts . ( fun fact they do not even produce that much heat).
7th question answer : it is possible but in couple scenarios but in general no. But in general ther is a fuse wire which limits the electricity flown to the tungsten wire and thus does not make it melt or break.
there are many questions but answering this much only because my hands are hurting like hell. But i hope this helps you. ;)

The flow of electricity through a conductor such as metal wire is know as electric current

In the vid the teacher said st wrong at the time 15:47
The bulb doesn't glow coz of the wrong arrangement of cells, and not because the circuit was closed --- according to sir. It clearly shows the closed switch over there. Otherwise the vid was good.

The video was really helpful for my exam preparation. However, as I come from Tamil Nadu and my Hindi is not strong, it was quite difficult for me to comprehend. Therefore, I kindly request you to speak in English in your future videos so that students from all over India can understand it easily. Thank you so much for your assistance once again!

Everthing you taught was great Sir! But, in 14:36, the circuit didn't work because the arrangement of the cells were wrong like + - - +, but it should come + - + -. Both the circuits were also closed. But other than that, everything was very clear!

14:50 Sir, the bulb doesn't glow in the first figure as the cells were from the negative terminals of both the cells.
