How to fix Fallout 3 not starting when you click Play (Windows 10)

3 steps:
2. Disable your windows defender real time protection (if it works you can add the two folders as exclusions);
3. Give administrator rights to the two executables.

This happened to me but I figured out it was because of one of the mods I had so in the data files I deactivated all the mods and then activated some to see if the game would launch with them until I found the mod that wouldn’t let me run the game, hope this works

Its dumb but change your “falloutsteam launcher” exe file and take out the word steam if other fixes aren’t working this should work for u

I just went to Documents, My Games, Fallout 3 and deleted every INI file. Do not be scared to delete the baked ini files too, those help with launching the game. Just don't delete the TXT, I've never tried it and it might break your Fo3.

Theres not fallout 3.exe thats why its not working

Did all this and didnt work, seen a comment on here that op deleted the files in document-mygames folder aswell, relaunched and shit worked. Gamepass pc. Danka to both of you
