I don's see the point of comparing these two. Obviously there's a huge price gap between them. It should have been MBP 14/16 instead of MBA.

I feel a better comparison would be with the 14 inch macbook pro

Battery life is hands down the killer feature - no contest. Battery life is THE only thing I "worry" about when I take my laptop on the go.

Don’t think it’s fair to compare a $1700 laptop to a $2850 laptop lol. Should have a least used a macbook pro for comparison

Oh nice video, I was just saying in my developer related review of these two machines that MaxTech will make a great all-rounder

This really isn't a fair comparison, the only way in which these laptops are comparable is the screen size. The XPS 15 is much more comparable in most terms to a 14" MacBook Pro.

Your reviews/comparisons are great, but there is a huge huge problem with this comparison, you are not considering power consumption which is the main reason the Apple M architecture is so great and important.

Not a fair test. A laptop isn't designed to be plugged in. I think in the real scenario, the XPS would last an hour, and the macbook would last a day. These windows laptops are not laptops these days, they're just weak desktops on wheels with a monitor strapped to it.

I have to say this is one of the first and only videos where I completely disagree with your verdict. The price of the Dell is over a grand higher than the Mac, and yet other than Blender, the Mac actually won the real-world test categories despite having lower benchmarks.
Normally I would say the comparison was hugely unfair, and that you should compare the base M2 Pro 14” MBP (or even the discounted M1 Pro) to this Dell, but honestly I’m very happy with how the Mac was able to hold its own against this much bigger high end laptop and beat it out in a lot of cases.
You guys will still always be my fav channel; I just don’t agree with your verdict but that’s ok! Keep up the good work!

The Dell Laptop is a beast with 4k graphics with an OLED screen . My main concern with OLEDs in general is the burn-in from static objects.

I was just watching a Mrwhosetheboss video comparing these two laptops exactly, but their XPS was less powerful in terms of specifications and similarly priced to the MacBook Air. Based on their tests, the MacBook Air won.

Thanks Max for the comparisons, it was observed that in some tests the Dell was better than the Apple M2 and in other tests the Apple was better than the Dell; however, the Intel processor model used is more comparative against an Apple M2 Pro or M2 Max processor than against the basic Apple M2, even though both laptops are 15". On the other hand, if that Intel Core i7 were to be lowered its speed at the level of the 3.5 GHz speed of the Apple M2, most likely it is that the Apple M2 was much better in almost or in all the comparison tests carried out, since the M2 for its type of architecture (RISC) is more efficient than that of Intel (CISC). Regards.

Why would someone compare 1500 and 2500 dollar Laptops, compare this with MacBook Pro's

Aside from them both being 15" screens, why would you compare the Dell to an Air? The Dell's price puts it in MacBook Pro territory, which would be a better comparison than to the Air

While I agree that in this case the Dell is better, it is also much more expensive. If you tested against the Dell model that was price competitive, I imagine the Apple would have won. With the configuration you have in the video, the 14 inch MacBook Pro is the better comparison.

I think these were compared just because they are both 15" screens, and for that reason alone. The specs of the two are quite different, as is the price. I think a more realistic test would be to spec the XPS so it is a similar price and specs to the Air, then see how it plays, or compare this XPS against a 14" MacBook Pro with M2 Max which is a very similar price and spec to this laptop. It's not a very good comparison when there is $1200 between them, twice the amount of RAM, almost double the amount of CPU cores, a gaming GPU and an OLED display. Comparisons either need closely matched devices or to make a point that the 'underdog' punches above its weight, that would be good consumer advice. With this, you've just said the most expensive one wins.

This comparison is like lining up a F1 race car with a mini. at least give the machines like for like specs. i would say that lining the XPS with a Macbook Pro 14 would be fair. also unplug the XPS after all it is a laptop, use it like one.

Glad so many people called them out for this. Except screen size these are entirely different purpose of laptop. Max Tech should do better.

Did anyone else think that the XPS speakers sounded way worse? It was certainly louder than the MacBook but the XPS sounded tinny and crunchy and the MacBook was way cleaner

I agree with the commenters here - the comparison should have been to the double binned 14 inch MacBook Pro. That said, even the double binned MBP is cheaper than the XPS tested here. It is nice to see Intel get processors that are more competitive with the M Series.
