"If you can't love me, at least don't bug me" has to be the hardest line I've heard in so long

“My children were harassed for having two mommies. But my grandchildren weren’t. That’s progress.”

"how dare you make _them_ afraid because _you_ are?!" is such a powerful statement.

I’m a 60 year old woman who was raised by two Dads back in a time when fear far outweighed rational reasoning.
Our home was place filled with love, support, kindness, warmth and a clear message to me that no matter what I chose to do in life, my Dads would be standing right behind me. Enough is enough!! If you don’t like it, don’t look at it!! Bigotry, homophobia, misogyny and hate have no place in 2024.

If reading a book with a gay character turns your child gay, just have them read another book with a straight character in it, it will turn them straight again, right?

I would much rather see a child have two mommy’s or daddy’s rather than none at all. It counts that they are loved.

If reading about same sex marriages make kids gay. Why hasn't reading about men and women marriages turn gay kids straight? Just asking.

If teaching kids about same sex marriage/parenthood is “grooming” or “indoctrination”, so is heterosexual marriage/parenthood. Same thing with any media that features any sort of heterosexual relationship.

I will never understand how homophobes can assert that sexual orientation is a "choice." When did they "choose"?

NO ONE who has ever banned books has ever ended up the hero of ANY STORY.

As a Christian, I feel secondhand embarrassment for these bigoted people. I was exposed to the "gay agenda" as an 8 year old reading a book. When I read it I said "I've never seen that before but ok" and went back to reading. Let your children formulate their own damn opinons not influenced by your bigotry

It puzzles me that the same people against abortion will throw children out of their homes for being LGBT plus.

I always thought having same sex parents was wrong, until I read my local newspaper and they brought up the question. “ Do you think an adopted child cares whether they have two dads or two mums? No, all they care about is having two parents that love them in a safe home” That little article completely flipped my view on the matter and I am glad I took the time to read it. Every child deserves a safe home that they feel loved in and their parents sexuality is totally irrelevant.

As Morgan Freeman said so eloquently… "I hate the word "homophobia". It's not a phobia. You're not scared. You're an asshole."

Having a gay child doesn't mean you've failed as a parent, disowning a gay child means you've failed as a parent.

I only had my mum. The man who fathered me was disgusting. It’s about who loves, cares and protects children that matters.

I started tearing up. You could hear the raw pain in her voice, the pain she probably had to go through because of who she is, and I identify with it. I live with my extremely homophobic family and I’d be thrown to the streets if they ever knew I was queer. I’m glad the world is changing. I don’t want to be afraid anymore
