Did you know that about 40% of family caregivers are men? That’s not a small number, so why are so few talking about this? Actor/director Justin Baldoni, former NFL star Devon Still, actor Nathan Kress, author & comedian Zach Anner and long-term care expert Robert Espinoza open up about their experiences giving and receiving care and discuss the importance of caregiving. Nathan shares about caring for his wife throughout her journey with endometriosis and his fear of potentially acting as a caregiver for his daughter as well due to the same illness. #CareWithME

About Caring Across Generations:
Since 2011, Caring Across Generations has been building a movement of all ages and backgrounds to transform the way we care. As the leading intersectional nonprofit and campaign in the space, Caring Across Generations works to transform our culture of care by getting people to recognize and value care — and the emotional, financial and personal sacrifices that come with it — as a collective responsibility. Caring Across Generations develops innovative policies starting at the state level to make quality care more accessible and these policies then fuel campaigns where field partners educate communities, organize activists and pressure elected officials. We elevate stories of caregivers and we shift the culture to value care and embrace aging so the policies we fight for can take root and we reach our ultimate goal: a world where everyone can age with dignity, and caregivers are respected and supported.

This was so beautiful, I had tears in my eyes. I only wish it was longer. These are men who obviously care deeply. I love the brotherhood and camaraderie, it brings my heart joy. Keep doing the things guys, you are not alone 💛

This episode is powerful. We need to make the invisible actions of care-giving visible! We need to shine a light on the care-giving provided by all genders. Men, sharing their experiences and their courage, help all of us have a fuller picture of what it means to care. Thank you!

I am surprised how this video doesn't have more views by now. Not only is it reasonably balanced, not one-sided, but it covers stories in a manner that doesn't appear to be gimmicky, which is something this platform has in excess already. My point isn't just about the appearance or the perceived form of the show, it is its nature. It involves discussion on a point that is largely forgotten.

This would be useful not only to those who should have a balanced view of both men and women but also to those who are in such a position themselves and may or may not even know it. To then understand that it isn't just the perceived weak men who become caregivers, but in fact, men from any walk of life, and that it can be a good metric to support how strong a man, in fact, any person, truly is, is interesting.

It isn't about throwing a pity party or coming across a video that supports your current world view. It is about understanding the layers that help make the being that we refer to as a male, specifically those aspects that aren't as publicized as those such as strength, intelligence, or aggression. This is a discussion I look forward to listening to in totality, which is why I just subscribed to this channel.

Having said all that, in case you're still reading, I hope you find the strength to smile even it isn't for a reason, and that you have a peaceful day ahead, reader. Kudos to the creators and participants of the video, and to those who helped make this small comment section a warm place that seems inviting enough for outsiders to come and share their thoughts.

Caregiving can be a challenge for the most skilled and compassionate person.
Men can be challenged by how emotional caregiving can be. Even some women have problems with caregiving. But sometimes love will keep people feeling obligated to keep caring when they are run down and don't know how to ask for help. Sometimes their is only one primary caregiver and others who could help just don't. This is a subject that we really must discuss more openly.
If you live long enough you will have to care for someone or you may need care. Talk to your family and friend about this subject. Know where resources are before you need them. Stay strong caregivers, you are important and special.
