There will never be anything like a disco anymore... the new set of laws are forbidding it (200m FPV!!!)...
My own Disco, with 3D hud and stabilized digital FPV with digital headtracking over 4G and unlimited range during hours of flight will remain unmatched forever...

I would prefer parrot to improve the disco and relaunch it, making a new model for consumers, not letting this wing with high potential die. If they make it cheaper, it would appease more public. New and better 4k camera with 3 axis stabilization, higher capacity battery, and full acro mode as well.

TLDR: this fixed wing market should be a flight platform rather than an entire flight+camera system. The FPV camera is designed to be low res so that it is easier to transmit the FPV signal to a user, but what that does is that it destroys the drones ability to serve as a camera carrying vehicle for film in fast aerial professional footage.

My detailed take: The idea of a fixed wing drone with the ability to film in FPV is very nice indeed, but there hasn’t been a good drone in the market that simply allows users to mount their own action camera of their own choice - that’s what killed this market. The fixed wing FPV market is made up of users wanting modularity and customizability with the camera aspects. Fixed wing drones can achieve extreme speeds and have massive ranges compared to quad copters.. (thanks to the efficient use of power compared to a quad that relies directly on battery power for lift). The result: the fixed wing aircraft’s FPV footage is the closest thing to what a fast flying bird sees. People don’t want to spend a fortune on these fixed wing planes that have built in cameras that get outdated quickly and are hard to customize or replace. Parrot should come up with a flight-only fixed wing aircraft (with a basic FPV camera) that allows the user to mount action cameras like the insta 360, insta pro, go pro, osmo, akaso etc.

I have no idea why Parrot canceled the disco. If you guys made a 4G Parrot Disco 2 with the battery mod, 4G mod and higher quality camera included for a reasonable price, it will be one of the most popular drones in the world. I’m currently working on these mods myself and although it’s challenging, it’ll be well worth it.
