How to Install Fonts on Mac

Learn how to download and install fonts in Mac OS X.

In this video tutorial we will show you how to install fonts on Mac.

On the opened web page choose a few fonts that you like and click on "download" to get them.

Go to the "Downloads" folder and double-click on the downloaded TTF file to launch the installation.

In the appeared window, click on "install font". After the installation is complete, a "font book" will be opened. Here you can see the newly installed font. Close the Font book. Go to the "downloads" folder. Open the folder with another downloaded font. Double-click on the TTF file to launch the installation. In the appeared window click "install font". In the next window you can see "Font validation" tool. Check the "select all fonts" option and press "Install checked".

After the installation is complete, you can see newly installed fonts in the "users" fonts of the "font book". Now you can use your new fonts on Mac.

I know this is late but it might help somebody. For anybody saying that they downloaded the font on their Mac but they can't use it in Microsoft word, the solution is simple. Go to the font book and drag the font you want to the "Windows Office Compatible Collection". It will then appear in Word and the other Office apps. Also, you can't use downloaded fonts in Google docs, for any who were wondering.

Do we deleted the folder after it’s been installed? I feel like I have a lot of fonts now and my computer is slow.

if you are having problems in using the new font in Pages:
1. Go to the font book and select the one you just downloaded.
2. Copy a letter and paste it into a document in Pages.
3. In the box where it usually says 'body' for your text, it will appear the type of font you downloaded and a blue box with 'update' on it, CLICK WHERE IT SAYS UPDATE.
4. The downloaded font will now be in the lists of fonts and you can finally use it.

After you install your font to your computer, I suggest you force close Microsoft word. Re open it and it should appear on your fonts. Thumbs up so it can help anyone with the problem.

Can you do an updated tutorial because MacBooks have changed in 4+ years and this is NOT working on my new MacBook Air :(
I purchased some “5 star” Resume template builder from ETSY and they linked this video however, I cant get any of it to work at all for my Macbook… idk if its because this is OLD and they have updated the MacBooks or what the problem is. But its super frustrating and time consuming as it seems None of these linked videos are helping… if you could redirect or maybe make a more recent video that would be greatly appreciated! (Or if someone else knows how to do it and can just reply to my comment, that would be great too!) PLEASE and THANK YOU

I tried to download a number of fonts. when I click install it comes up stating "could not install font. this may occur because of efforts to install fonts in file containing no valid fonts. check your selection and try again." what do I do to get rid of that message and continue to download the fonts I want? HELP!

Um.... when it shows the part where they say there is a minor problems, and I press select all fonts and install check, it says I didn't download it, is this broken?
