Surefire G2X Pro & Tactical Flashlight Review

The Surefire G2X lights are the companies new high output, low cost lights. The Tactical version has one mode (200 lumens), while the Pro has the same high mode plus a lower mode for better battery life and when 200 lumens is just too much. The G2X models have Nitrolon bodies and the same legendary Made in America quality as the rest of the Surefire products.

Well I'm glad they finally made a version of their light that has a low high output option...

I always wanted one of their polymer lights but when they always had them at only one setting (80 lumens or whatever) running on 2 cr123a's they seemed pretty useless. Now I actually will consider the g2x pro! I like that it has a 15 lumen setting.

@TheBananamanAssassin The tactical model has only ONE mode. the 200 lumens mode. Only the Pro version has the low 15 and high 200 lumens mode.

Are there any compact flashlights out there that work happily and comfortably with rechargeable batteries?. Also what would you recommend is the best compact LED flashlight for a wide dispersion of light/less focused spot, as I prefer that when walking at night in the fields so i can comfortable see the ground around me (to not walk into any cowpats) as well as some distance. Thanks.

How does Surefire G2X Pro compare to a Klarus XT2C or a Klarus XT11? Even though the Surefire is only 200 lumens it seems as bright as the Klarus XT2C which is 470. Is it because Surefire has better standards?

Hey brother do you know if the g2x tactical has a pressure switch or is at least compatible with any other pressure switches?

@goingprepared can I use rechargeables on the sc1. Do I use 3v or 3.7v rechargeables for both sc2 and sc1. Are the flashlights submersible?

I think you need to upgrade the mag light. My mini mag seems brighter then that one you have and its about twenty bucks. Its not a fair comparison to other high lumen lights.
