I've had this exact model for 9 months. It was my first surefire and I love it. It seems to be pretty tough. It has survived many drops onto concrete with no damage

Good review. Short and simple. Also you've had it for a year, so you could report any issues with it.

if you plan on using this often i recommend rechargeable 16650 batteries from keepower and orbtronic. works perfectly in my fury pro. for some reason they dont work well in my e2d though.

also solarforce pocket clips fit on the g2x. just put on a rubber o ring and that should take up the slack. prometheus is another maker for a very nice pocket clip but its more expensive. i have the thrym switchback as well...but im not a huge fan of it.

the g2x is durable and my pick for an emergency light. g2g for a rifle light as well. i keep the 16650 battery in my fury and save the surefire cr123a's for emergency and backup. a cheap charger like the nitecore intellicharger i2 and a 16650 battery will cost you about 20-30 bucks and last you a long time. worth it.

the fury isnt like crazy brighter than the g2x when going from the 320 lumen model g2x to the 500 lumen fury. i was dumb enough to trade 2 g2x's for 1 fury so i found that out the hard way lol

These are great flashlights. CR123 batteries are readily available and retain 80% of their power after 10 yrs. These are perfect long term emergency lights when the SHTF. Rechargeable 16650 batteries work with this light when electricity is available. Those fancy 18650 rechargeable batteries are worthless if you don't have electricity to power the charger.

I get it, surefire makes a solid flashlight. But why would I want to spend $60 on a light that requires me to constantly buy obscure sized batteries that are not cheap either, when I could buy something like an olight S1 with a rechargeable battery for less money than this light. And the olight also has a higher lumen output as well! Honestly, nothing irritates me more than a flashlight that just chews through batteries, especially expensive obscure sized batteries!
