What 30-series torque converter belt is the best?
Tested a 725 GoPowerSports 30 series torque converter belt against a 1PZ
203589A belt, a generic eBay belt, and a Genuine 30 series Comet belt to see which would perform the best on a Predator 212-powered Coleman CT200U-EX minibike.

Belt prep is also key. I take a propane torch and run it across the drive faces of the belt to clean off the oil from production. Definitely helps too.

Comet is the only thing for my 263cc (same bike as Charles Super Hog build) If I don't use a comet it's going to stretch and have a jerky engagement. They last much longer too.

Good comparison video!
I have the Comet 203589A belt and the 725 Go Power Sports belt. Go Power Sports said the 725 belt works better with the Juggernaut as the belt is slightly longer to get it in more overdrive. I saw someone get 3 MPH more top speed going from the stock belt to the 725 belt, 30 series torque converter with a Juggernaut, 212cc built engine.
I haven't had a chance yet to compare the two belts.
I have the same Coleman as yours, same color too. 50T rear sprocket.
My engine is the Tillotson 212R MK2 with a header pipe and RLV muffler.

1 Comet belts last longer than any other belt. I can burn through a couple cheap belts in 1 day. Riding a dingo go-cart, with about the same predator setup, except 8 x 60 sprockets, Comets last longer than 6 months. Good video, when are you going to a garage for all your bikes, yours is getting real full.

I’ve tried a bunch of different belts. Biggest difference is that the sizes are all over the place for what are supposed to be the same size belt. Longer, looser belts allow the engine to spin up faster and engage at a higher ratio, resulting in slip as well as ratio variance at the top end. Things got a lot better when I slotted my back plate to adjust belt tension. Lets me use a variety of belts without much difference.

I've tried lots of directions belts. The gopowersports belts always work great for me.

Next step would be to compare the $18 three pack of 725 belts from ebay versus GPS's belt. GPS doesn't manufacture these belts. They may be getting them from the same place the ebay seller is getting them from and making a nice profit from the higher price they sell them for.

You also have to factor in how hard you're Launching from a dead stop! If you go full throttle from the get go every time we all know that it stretches your belt. And if you do that in consecutive rows It will continue to stretch the belt. So I have learned not to just go for tilt from the take off but Ease into you're acceleration. But we all know there is times when you want to go full bore straight from the rip.

I’ve run a dark horse racing belt that came in a 3 pack for 20 bucks for a year now. If you run into belt slippage just put the tc spring in that third hole and it’ll work good as new

Dang!! I would have never thought of this. Good to know though!! I was wondering, to run that center exhaust on that bike do you have to remove the rear fender?? Thanks for the videos!!

Definitely worth running the better belts but for the price, it’d also be mad not to have the ebay belts as backup on a ride. Even if they just last long enough to order a good belt, they are worth it.

Still running that stage one upgrade on the juggernaut in this video? Im running the belt that came with my cheap amazon torque converter that I put on last year. It probably has about 700 miles on by now and still no fray marks, it has been a great belt. You need to up to 50 or so tooth sprocket and get that cam in its rpm range for making some power. Good video tanks for sharing the results.

Another great video! Wondering, what is that bar between the handle bars and what does it do? Also, I noticed on the tighter belts I can’t really push the bike around when it’s off, like it’s locking up the back tire. You have any of those issues? Thanks again!!!

I run a 1PZ belt the same as in the video and I've never had an issue with it. I'm pushing 8 months now and no fraying or damage or an residue and I'm running it on a 440cc stage 2 big block so I don't know what happened with yours. 1PZ has always been good to me even in mud or rain so damage whatsoever. I don't know what to tell you but it ain't a bad belt for the price
