Note: Friday's video got taken down due to a technical difficulty which is now solved. It'll be the next one uploaded.

Lnp supports free lunches, but rather than supporting them in the school, they want it in prison.

Reversing privatisation of essential infrastructure is literally one of the best policies I’ve ever heard of.

Why would they NOT want to tax the coal companies making billions in profits from our resources. I literally don't understand the logic.

Queenslander here, and worker at one of the electricity distribution companies, if the LNP sells us off and guts us, we’ll be unrecognisable, electricity price increases are just the beginning, our storm and cyclone response would be in shambles and a shadow of what it has been. There is a campaign going on at the moment called not4sale and is focused on the LNPs desire to sell of the publicly owned electricity assets.

As a Queenslander I know how good we have it. We are doing well, but nothing is perfect. I had two LNP stooges at my door who tried to convince me, as a former lawyer, that they're just slogans like 'Adult Crime, Adult Time' has some fundamental strategy behind it. I asked them to convince me with facts behind the policy... They couldn't. They told me they would email me back (never did). They're just lying to Queenslanders with shitty politics like saying that they will change the Abortion Act etc etc just to make people upset (a page from the US Republicans).

It's a shame most Queenslanders are going to vote Liberal for stupid reasons. We all need to spread the word fast. Thanks for doing this Jordie, thankfully if we're the minority I'm glad I'm standing on your side of the fence doing the right thing

"Desperate vote grabbing ploy" translates to "This will win votes because it's a good idea, but we need to give it a negative spin"

Note: I live and work in the UK, but what I'm about to say does transfer over to Australia.

I work in a public school that services a very deprived area, so free school meals fall directly into my wheelhouse. Referring to such a policy as 'communism 101' is not only foolish it is monumentally shortsighted.

When you have kids who grow up in areas with low SES (socioeconomic status) free meals from schools either at lunchtime or through a breakfast club might be the only time of the day that they are guaranteed a meal. If kids don't get enough quality nutrition growing up their physical and mental development is stunted, which influences their ability to study and learn in school. That means they cannot achieve the grades they might otherwise have been able to get, with the added benefit of increasing their chances of growing up with mental health issues such as chronic inferiority complexes or anxiety over their perceived lack of ability.

Once those patterns of behaviour and issues get hard-baked into them during puberty it is tough to turn that negative life spiral around. Low grades mean a reduced likelihood of attending any kind of further education which limits their career options. That then means they have a high chance of remaining in the low-poverty environment they grew up in, producing kids of their own to perpetuate the cycle.

The thing is, as we all know some of those people with neutered futures are easily convinced by a biased media to vote for parties like the Liberals. Therefore, free school meals represent the metaphorical pebble that starts an avalanche that might deprive the Liberals and other parties of a future pool of easily convinced uninformed voters. They can't allow the possibility of this future cache raising themselves out of poverty and gaining a lifelong allegiance to Labor.

I've talked to many people here in Queensland and it has been mostly these responses:
"Crime is too high."
"They've got no ideas."
Seriously, that's it. You show them reasons why a Labor government is far superior and they go back to their talking points that's been spoon-fed to them by the media.
Going to be a tough few years ahead.

It's terrifying as a young person in Qld seeing older people wanting to "just try" LNP cause the good things labour has done aren't good enough for them. They think 50c fares are dumb cause they don't help them whiles it's helping young people be able to afford groceries. They don't want rent help cause that would mean they make less money off unfortunate people that can't buy. They winge that their taxes are going towards these helpful things but never recognise that everyone's taxes do, including the people it's helping. Listening to people that go on and on about how bad it is to help people less fortunate than them is just... Tiring

The argument I hear the most against Labor's plans for Queensland are that "tHe MoNeY haS to CoMe fRom SomEwHerE", but last time I checked we're consistently in a budget surplus under Labor for coal royalties... I'm not sure I understand.

We tried this a few years ago. The Newman government was famously one of the most klepto-tastic administrations in recent memory. They basically just laid off half the civil service, and NOW the LNP are moaning about ambulance ramping.

It does my head in how many Queenslanders are planning on voting for the LNP when they have no policies or any counter arguments over all the years Labor has been in power. And it’s as if they forgot how bad it was when the Liberals were last in power.

Thank you for making this video. I hope enough Queenslanders see this before voting.

So far this year, as a Queenslander I received:
* 50 cent transport
* $200 per kid to use on joining a sport club.
* $500 off an e-bike.
* $200 off an e-scooter.
* $1000 towards electricity bill - so this recent bill was “free” as will our next two be free.
* $300 off when I bought a fridge in Jan with a Qld gov rebate.

Qld is winning right now!

Why would any normal person support removing a coal tax?

Brisbane shut down the Train stations today due to maintenance, I just finished work at the job I got thanks to the 50c public transport system and the free busses that replaced the trains for the weekend took me home. Thanks QLD Transport. I even got to vote intime because the voting booths were still open. The lady in the booth next to me offered me a pen because all that was there were pencils. She said '' don't ever sign a legal document in pencil.''

I live in North Queensland, and we have wall to wall mining propaganda on tv and radio, every hour of the day. It’s truly sickening.

Missed the part about the LNP quietly setting up to help the Katter party push through a private members bill to recriminalise abortion in the state.

As someone who lives in Queensland, the media has pretty much gripped the whole state in fear of youth crime. And the LNP just so happens to be running a campaign to get rid of it.

I lived in China for 12 years—there are no free lunches there. In general, Australians don’t appreciate how good we have it here. But instead of celebrating what we do well, we focus on minor issues as if they’re the end of the world. Take free lunches for kids, for example. If the food is healthy and nutritious, it could make a huge difference for children who otherwise only have access to junk food or skip breakfast altogether, because their parents aren’t providing them with it. It could help kids who might have grown up with learning difficulties otherwise due to excessive preservatives and additives in their diets to nurture their bodies and minds, perform better in class, and improve their outcomes.

Small changes like this can greatly benefit society, enhance long-term productivity, and even boost local producers. That’s all good for capitalism. Duh. Labor isn’t communist—but the LNP, on the other hand, is becoming increasingly fascist. They seem intent on imposing values on society that the majority simply doesn’t support.

I live on the gc. Was talking to a coworker who said that qld labor was the shittiest govt in memory, and that the Covid response was shit. I looked at him like he grew two heads and asked if he would rather live in nsw, and he instinctively responded yes before I told him to actually think about it. After I brought up the ruby princess, the convo ended very quick.
