Owned & bred Welsh Pembroke Corgis’ for over 25 years’. They were all beautiful, loving, great watch dogs. They’d ‘talk’ to me, & understood all that was spoken to them. Just adored them!

I have never had a dog that just loves all people like Harper does. True joy when he is around new people.

Just lost my best friend of ten years. Not more than a half hour ago, my beautiful corgi, Pete, slipped away.
I don't think I've ever hurt this much.

I lived with one for a few months. She was deaf, almost completely blind and such a sweet heart.

Just got one. I'd usually prefer bigger dogs but doesn't fit where we are right now. So glad I made the choice. I'm a hard working family man but I have some mental health issues I don't want to go on about. I registered her as a service dog because I told my self I see all these people bringing their dogs managing the bar I'm at because they are bored and extra. (You know the ppl I mean). I'm actually able to use her like this tho as I tend to get manicy if I don't have much to do around the house when I'm off and I'm super anti social when I don't have to be in people mode. This well behaved youngly love dog has gone with me everywhere. I'm amazed at how good she is and I had no idea what a great addition not just for the family but myself selfishly is something I wasn't expecting.

I am on my second Corgi. They are really special and unique dogs. Ours is a true family member and keeps us on our toes. So intelligent, funy and has an astounding ability to know what we are thinking and saying. Also he is a master manipulator, knowing exactly how to get what he wants. Best dog ever - um for the shedding part!

We have owned PWC’s since the mid 90’s, almost no one knew the breed when we got started. One thing I will say: they’re cute and they’re smart enough to know it. Exceptionally intelligent. They are the most manipulative breed of dog I have ever owned. And we love them for it.

Pembroke corgis also have tails like their cardigan counterparts, it’s just that people docked the pembrokes tails for working purposes and people find it to be cute but personally I prefer pembrokes to have their natural tail

I have had 5, 1988-2021. They are not for a novice owner. Before getting one research and spend time around a Corgi first. They come with a lot of pros but here are the cons. They shed not just some, but a huge amount year round, on your furniture, clothes, floor, car and in your food, a very good vacuum needed as well as change AC heat filters more often, might still have it clog your unit. They bark, a lot, at everything and nothing and their bark can be earsplitting and scare kids, they also "talk". They gain weight easily, good quality food in small amounts 2 times a day for adult( 2 and over). They do best with a yard, they are not a laid back breed at all, they are natural herders. They like to nip at ankles and chase especially kids, need training. When young, under 2-3, they can be very destructive if left alone too long, furniture, shoes, flooring, anywhere you sit or what you touch and wear is fair game for their teeth, they do not like being left alone too often. They are very smart and need an assertive, not mean, owner or they will train you. It is like this, you need to be the right owner for the Corgi, not the Corgi be the right breed for you.

Weve had 2 pembroke corgi's ( and other breeds too) and both have been super affectionate dogs, and very smart. They love people and get along with most other dogs, great breed!
