Seriously take your time. I prefer your backrooms game over anyone else on steam because i can see you literally put your heart into it. My son loves playing it as well so dont listen to the impatient turds who have no idea how hard and tedious it is to develop let alone manage a game when its already working with a small crew of 5 or less people. I think that the characters being silly is a really good balance for the game honestly!!
The game IS scary, and the characters are the comic relief honestly, cus they kinda make your guard go down, cus you're laughing at them with friends, then suddenly an entity appears behind you, and AAAAH you know?

I speak for my friends when I say don't rush it. Non game devs don't understand how much effort, time, and even money it takes to make these ideas reality. The only way I'd be disappointed is if you cave to the peer pressure and make the game something I'm not interested in playing because of a rush. A cool way to add some extra content to the game could be through some small cosmetics tied behind achievements or tasks.
Things like a party hat for beating Level Fun, a pool floatie for beating the poolrooms, etc.
Maybe even hiding some cosmetics in secret rooms throughout some of the levels. Small things like that would definitely help replayability and would make the game more fun with friends.
