China is an inconsistently developed country. But if you’re launching Aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, space stations and more you behave as a developed country. You’re not waiting to give your whole population a middle income GDP per capita level first. You deserve no special favors anymore.

If you measure China by its achievements, then it's a developed country. If you measure China on a per capita basis, then it is still a developing country. On average, each person in China earns $10k/year. How does it compare to other developed nations. Not so good. If you dig deeper, you will notice that 100's of millions earn a lot less then that because $10k/year is an average. Remember, China has the most billionaires. The problem is that China is so huge in terms of population that it spands both ends of the developed/undeveloped spectrum. India will be in the same situation later. In any case, it is both. When its per capita income reaches $40k/year then yes it is a developed nation. But not now. I disagree with you Lei.

There needs to be a new designation Post-developed. These countries have an aging infrastructure and population. Stagnant economies, massive debt issues, dystopian educational and Institutional systems corruption. Massive drug addiction problems.
And a ruling elite with dyslexic policies which exacerbate rather than rectify these problems

The point is the word "developing", it's simply the status of China, never stop development and improvement.
