Is that what happens to linux users when playing game on linux is too easy?

This reminds me of when I first started seeing articles/videos about playing Windows games (I think the first game I saw was KOTOR II) on Linux a decade+ ago. I was pretty skeptical and pessimistic and things turned out much better than I thought. It will be interesting to see where gaming on FreeBSD will go. Thanks for the video.

I love how with all the debating about Linux being a viable Gaming Platform we have people all like "Hold my beer, Imma make it work on FreeBSD"

instead of wget, you can just use the fetch command. Comes with the base system and does the same thing when wanting to retrieve a file using URI

I have 303 games in steam and about 240 work in FreeBSD with Mizuma. The gaming performance seems to surpass Linux as well. DX12 should be available soon as well so more games will be compatible soon. Still no rockstar titles though. Kind of a bummer. Great video!

I will stay on Linux for now, as this looks all too much like switching from windows to Linux did 10 years ago, but it's great to see there is an alternative in case something insane happens in the Linux world and we need to jump ship.

Great man. Very good. I will try to follow these procedures in classic FreeBsd. Congratulation for this video.

On the step where you install DLLs, I keep getting "Unknown file arch: 45"

I'm reverting from Linux to FreeBSD. I have read the Rootless Root, and I testify that UNIX is the one true operating system, and FreeBSD is the implementation of UNIX.

instead of vim, you can just use the freebsd easy editor ( ee ) it comes with the system by default since forever ago. Its more like windows note pad, to close and save just use control + c and and yes to the prompt

would be fine when you write all commands in your video description.

I don't think I'm too far from swapping to BSD.

If anything I'm awaiting some improvement to wayland support. It is all in all, so much nicer than X.

oh yes, i remember that, freebsd has a linux compatibility layer that you can install so you can have proton, steam and other linux exclusive or not, software run on it
