“PlayStation 6 release date surfaces in official documents from Sony. Just when people are finally able to get their hands on a PS5 - two years after the release date - we now have a timeline for the release of the PlayStation 6. According to official Sony documents, which have now been made public, the PS5 will go down as having the shortest lifespan of any PlayStation console. Well, that's because the documents are being made public due to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in response to Microsoft’s pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard, as reported by PlayStation Lifestyle. Although you'd think that precious details regarding the release window of Sony’s next-generation console would be kept in-house. Without further ado, on page 8 of the 22-page document, it is claimed by Sony that Microsoft had 'offered to continue making Activision’s games available on PlayStation only until 2027’.This means that Sony apparently intends to release the PS6 sometime after 2027, which could make you think twice about sticking with your PS4 in the meantime.”

“A new Sony PlayStation 5 “Pro” could launch as early as April 2023, possibly with liquid cooling. It’s hard to digest that the PlayStation 5 has been around for three years now. The world’s best-selling gaming console may not be entirely obsolete just yet, but internal rumblings indicate the launch of a “Gen 2” PS5 that could see the console get its routine upgrades before Sony moves to the PlayStation 6, which the company is definitely working on, according to PS5 designer Mark Cerny. I loved the PS3 the most, just slightly more than the PS2. I felt the world open up to me with the online experience and PlayStation Home was pretty cool also getting to meet people. The startup was really nice, games were really good, and times were much easier as well where it felt like the world was more together than it is now.

What Sony NEEDS to do now that the Steam Deck is out and the Nintendo Switch has gotten so big, is to FINALLY release a brand new PSP 2 or something. I would LOVE to see what they could do revamping the PSP line of portable consoles with todays tech.

This generation is going by so fast. Mainly because how hard it was to get one. I didn't buy my Series X until December 2022. And it was all because I found out the store near me had one. I just went out to get food and came back with an Xbox. I just stopped trying. Wasn't paying more than $500.

The PlayStation 2 is arguably the best console, in my opinion for several reasons. No updates for nothing. What you see is what you get. Developers were forced to make sure they didn't have bugs that would make games unplayable. They had to check more carefully than now. No unreasonable loading times for its era. Well built controllers. 1080 Compatible, but rarely anyone knew or used its capabilities, and still the king in the most sold console of all time for good reason.

With all due respect. You guys act like the ps6 is coming out next year. According to the headline, it's a minimum of 4 years away. The quote says after 2027. Also, if Sony follows a similar release strategy, the "psvr3" would be at least 6 years away. Plenty of time to get full use of the psvr2. Maybe too long. However, I do agree that the stalled true start to next generation will make that time seem shorter.

sony needs to merge all the stores, release cross gen data packages. that would be the only reason to release a ps6 so soon.
im just now able to find a ps5, and i have no doubt scalpers will be an issues when the slim comes out

What sony, msft, and nintendo need to do is come up with a unified console they can all develop games/peripherals for. Kind of like a PC but standard hardware and custom OS.

Damn, I just got a PS5 and already we're being swamped with all this PS6! It was an uphill battle just to tryand get one the first 2 years. Let the 5 live a little before consoles go the way of smartphones - we'll be having to get new console every year. Chill!

When it comes to cooling you guys don’t know what your talking about.
Liquid cooling requires maintenance so you won’t see that.
