You adjusted your valves at TDC between the exhaust and intake stroke, really right at the valve overlap point. That is the wrong place. The intake was just starting to open. Your valves will be way too loose, even though it did, eventually start and run. They should be adjusted at TDC of the compression stroke, when both valves will be fully closed.

This video helped so much! I’ve got a go kart I’m about to start working on it’s got the same problem it’s locked up and it’s been sitting in my shed for the last 10 years but I’m excited to pull it apart lol

A neighbor gave me an old HF trencher with the 280cc motor that has been sitting outside for years. I haven't gotten around to it jut yet but i opened the oil and water and/or fuel gushed out...not sure if there is a hole or what. Maybe I shouldn't bother, maybe just grab another engine.

You had a internal problem with your decompression spring on your cam or camshaft decompression mechanism for better terms. It probably was stuck on the inside by the cam. I’m pretty sure that’s why that cord was yanking back on you the way it was.

oil sensor was still hooked up, eliminate that wire for now.. then hook back up when you got it running, maybe a bad oil sensor.

Guys. When this happens pull the head right away. Then go from there. You could clean part of the cylinder then load it with oil and break it free with the head out of the way.

And do not use his lash specs unless you are using metric feeler gauges. .010-.020mm is very different than .010-.020".

For getting out jet out of the carburetor you don't to grind down a screwdriver, use a four-in-one screwdriver.
A 4 pc. mini pick & hook from harbor freight works great getting the tube out.

You don't need an ultrasonic cleaner although they are nice. A three quart pail of chemdip parts cleaner is under 25 bucks at the autoparts store. You can use it many times over and over again and it comes with the strainer basket.

Valve adjustment done at the wrong spot. I've never seen valve clearance adjusted to 10 to 20 thou. Typical is 4 to 8 thou. Are you certain in your specs? Also, why didn't you seat the valves while you were in there?

But, I give ya credit for putting your work out here. Overall good job. And you give us weekend mechanics hope! :)

Myn was locked up to I just put some Diesel fuel in there and started cranking it it worked

I’m writing this comment at your second carb breakdown. I’m thinking it a timing issue. Timing key sheared maybe. We’ll see.
