XShear - Heavy Duty Trauma Shears

The XShear's are heavy duty stainless steel trauma shears! They are a great upgrade from your typical trauma scissors found in firstaid and trauma kits. I would compare the blades to the Leatherman Raptors!

TLDR; keep gloves in M&M minis tube.
I’m a new subscriber and a First Responder at an explosives plant in California. I’ve been binging on your older videos to pick up any little tricks of the trade that could help me and mine in that capacity. Something some of us do out here to store our gloves is we stuff them into a cleaned “ M&M’s minis” tube. It keeps them clean, protected, dry, and helps organize your bag. You can fit four gloves it it, and remove them with your fingertip. Hope this helps.

Late to the party by a couple years but have been watching a lot of your stuff lately and have been building my ifaks and trama kits based on a lot of your stuff. Keep up the good work. Side note... love the bloopers at the end 😂

Thanks. This looks like what I'll be carrying. What're a few extra dollars when it comes to lifesaving gear? Always buy the best, you won't regret giving up that extra hamburger each month. In fact, you'll be healthier for it, so it's a win win!

These look like electrician's shears with trauma ergonomics.

A few years ago I tested electrician's shears, trauma shears and a pair of gerber game shears on an old pair of boots and folded denim. Electrician's shears won.

I use the Robin Safety Boy Trauma Shears... Will cut through anything like a hot knife through butter... They are on the expensive side. 110 for the shears and holster..

I have 2 of them and are hands down the best trauma shears I own. I keep one in my edc bag and use the others at work on the ambulance.

I've been debating between these shears and the Leatherman Raptor. I'm not an EMT but I want to get at least some kind of training other than basic first aid and with that, the right gear. Honestly, these X-Shears seem pretty awesome, even without the bells and whistles.

I have been using the X Shears for a year or so, both as an ED nurse and a FF/paramedic. These things rock! Never had them fail on me. When I got mine, they were only offered in black. Now out it colors, they my be on my list for Christmas gifts for some of my nursing friends.

Hey Skinnymedic, it looks like you got some kind of organization system in your truck bed. What is that?

And you don't think the Raptor sheath is big and bulky? The thing is huge and snags on everything. I have XShears and Raptors and had Kydex sheaths made for both for around $20 each. I believe XShears have their own branded sheath at this time for about $30

Okay... I was just trying to rationalize, "Why I need another set of EMS shears" and I decided "color" would be my justification. I have Raptors on a Kevlar Key Bak, and Claus Titanium in a leather belt sheath... but for those of us w/o a vest... How do you secure the xShears? (are they really that good?)

Could you do a Video about how to improvise training gear for wound packing etc.? Like a bleeding arm etc.? I know there is good stuff to buy out there - but maybe there is some stuff that can be built from one yourself (when on a budget etc.). Thank you!

Hey Skinnymedic! Good review. Just to update... Xshear's do have a holster now but... it is $29.00 on Amazon which brings the total with shears to $68.00. $1.95 less than Leatherman with holster on Amazon which is $69.95. So which one would you say is now the better buy?
