What i recommend doing is instead of holding it its best to put it on something to lean on to make it really still as that worked for me

a little tip - I added an automation
when connected to a charger it will disable orientation (and then it works perfectly)
and when disconnected to a charger it will able the orientation
and there ya go !

It is not glitching out, if it does not work again try unplugging and plugging it back in while its in landscape then the standby mode will show, pretty shocked btw thank you for the tips

Is anyone else having issues getting Standby mode to work? I’ll put it on charge, turn off rotate lock, & lock phone, & manually rotate phone, as I have no kick stand this for, and shall never yet get it to work. I have reported as this bug issue to Apple.

I just realize that i have to put my iphone closely 90° to the floor to activate the stanby mode and if u slightely rotate more than that it desactivates the mode, it might help yall

on my iPhone it doesn't say StandBy will turn on when stationary in landscape and while on power to show information like widgets a photo frame or a clock it says on mine StandBy will turn on when iPhone is placed on its side while charging to show information like widgets photo frames or clocks

Its simple
Process no need to ON OFF Portrait Orientation, you need to stand ur phone in landscape mode and this feature will work.

Plug in the charger on your iphone, lay the phone on the side and then swipe it to the left

When it activated, it said "swipe left or right to get started". By touching the "x" button you just closed it, that means, you said to your phone that you don't want this enabled, you just disabled this option lmao

must leave phone sideways for a good min or to it seen to know when your hold it so try standing it on something and leaving it alone
