Hey Mathew I did this to my San Nai recon tanto put a few strokes on it the same angle it came out the factory so I did the toilet paper roll and it cut effortlessly. Proud cold steel owner.

4034 is the new super steel evidently.. Blade looks scratched up. So it's taking some sort of damage.

It slid until it caught the natural edge in the roll, additionally the bend in the knife makes it potentialy catch the back of the roll where the knife user could have made a lip in the tub.

How do you sharpen that kukri? The factory edge of mine is okay but far from being that sharp or „shaving sharp“. The recurve makes it difficult if not impossible to use bench stones.

Matt, I really appreciate all the testing you've been doing with Cold Steel's 4034 steel. In the months that you've owned the Kukri Plus, has the edge taken any significant damage? I'm thinking of buying a Laredo in 4034, so I'm wondering how tough the steel is. Thanks!

They designed that Kukri for Dr Gyi and the Bando Association.
No Kukri matches it world wide. Dr Gyi was very impressed with it and he is from Burma.
