Wait, buying locally can be just as sketchy as ~400 imported cars from 2014 - 2020 that had US titles recently had their title revoked due to shady import docs. So just because it has a title doesn't mean you are safe either.

I love how it costs more to get a capuccino minicar right now than it does to get an actual miata

This was Sam's best video, been looking forward to it considering he's done it. He's starting to get comfortable in front of the camera as well, give Sam one of Wisconsin's world famous cheesy pinky in the ear for me

I'm a JDM guy myself but for some odd reason, this video made me think of importing a French car. That special edition Renalt Clio they made that was AWD, I think mid engine, V6 hatchback. That would be super fun and rare here in the States.

Although we didn't get all the best versions, a lot of the cars shown in these clips were sold in america. The FD, FC, S2k, 240z/280z (in japan called the fairlady), the supra, the S13 and S14, the celica GT-four (alltrac), the toyota celsior (LS400), blobeye wrx/sti, etc. The cars he mentions, we didn't get, but almost all of the cars shown in clips are cars we did get

Just picked up a 1980 Mitsubishi J53 rhd diesel jeep from my boss for 4gs. Still has the Japanese title and plates. Hoping it will be worth more when I do the rust repair and get it licenced

If you're broke like me and you want a cool car, here are some options: B15 and B16 Nissan Sentra SE-R/spec V, BMW E46 (going up but still cheap), Honda Civic Si EP3, Corvette C4, 987 boxster

Lesser known but if I had the funds as Sam said would absolutely love a Nissan Cima. Just love the look of them and they look incredible when lowered properly. 😁👊

In no way is this a recruiting post. But the military is a good way too. I bought my 96 K’s Aero S14 when i was stationed in Okinawa. It was super cool to own and drive there and then the military makes it super easy to import your car. My Silvia is fully legal. No US customs issues and easy pick up and registration (outside of California). Also thank you fitment for helping me find the perfect wheels for my budget and my car. I got Motegi Mr154 battles in all white on my black kouki s14. Sizing is 17x9.5 with a +30 offset. Running 15mm spacers on the front.

I imported a JDM 1998 Subaru B4 RSK for $3000 from Japan 9 years ago, cheap, reliable, well maintained and 280HP B4 Twin turbo. Best value for the money.
Can't wait to import a Renault Megane 3 RS in a few years.

I recently bought a JDM car, and the seller is doing the import for 10 years. I asked what he thinks of the prices these days. He said they're way too much for what the cars are. He would buy an R32 GT-R for 9000€ so $9500. But he wouldn't spend more on those cars. Yes I'm a big fan of the R32 GT-R and I was shocked to hear that prices used to be this low.

honestly I'd import a Kei car or two if I decided to import, Subaru Sambar most likely.

Thanks for great service on my FRS' wheels, I'm getting compliments around GB.

I would import a car, but with the amount of people getting scammed and lied to about their car I see no point in doing it unless I flyover there myself and look at it

With the market rn, it's cheaper to import some cars than buying others

As someone who has bought a JDM in every way. Importing yourself from an auction is the best way to go. You need a good exporter in Japan and a good customs broker in the USA. Living near a port helps a lot. The paperwork is not hard and any customs office or broker can assist you. Yes you have to go to the port pick it up, detail it put a battery in it etc, but you save thousands. But what about a car that's already here and imported? I'm telling you everyone wants to make money and you'll be paying the sellers marked up price. They probably bought it marked up from an importer and want their money out of it. As for going through an importer, yes you do a lot less work but you will pay thousands over what it would cost to import yourself. Many importers add 10, 000 or more to the price. I understand the see it person and drive it aspect, but I'll take my chances and save money doing it myself.

the mitsubishi FTO isnt crazy expensive right now. for starters, it isnt at the level of cars like the GTO, GTR, supra.. second, a lot of people have forgotten about mitsubishi. but for those of us in that community, its a car we've been waiting for. who wouldnt want a fwd 2 liter v6 coupe on a lancer platform?
