🌿 When your Nepenthes collection gets too big 🏔️ Getting critical about your plants

Показать описание
In the first years, most Nepenthes beginners go on a buying spree—every plant looks amazing, and suddenly, your home is overflowing with greenery. But after 3-5 years, reality hits: space is limited, care routines take more time, and you start to realize not every plant is a keeper. In this video, we’ll talk about how to transition from a plant hoarder to a thoughtful collector, and how to decide which plants to keep. 🌿✨

Am I the only one who sells the extra plants/cuttings and runs to get new neps RIGHT AWAY because I can't stop myself the moment I see 3 inches of free space

Hey! I Just had a quick question regarding your nepenthes substrate. I see you use live sphagnum to top dress most of your neps, though I can't seem to find a video addressing the benefits of this practice, or how to keep the moss alive? Would love to hear from you :)

Best wishes from Newfoundland 🇨🇦

This is why I stopped buying a bunch of cheap plants. Maybe I'll get them later but I need to prioritize what I actually want first.

Nice update!
Since I had experience with 'collection' type hobbies in the past filling up my house (and spending copious amounts of money on them), I've been very specific with my carnivorous plants. I keep the adult size of the plant in mind. I buy my plants as small as I can (usually 3-5cm tall), but still won't allow myself to go further.
Sad to say, I'm pretty much 'full'.
I've also bought a few species that stay pretty small with small pitchers (argentii, tenuis, etc.). This compensates for the monsters.

Update, great! The moment I saw you getting another truncata and it's hybrid on there over a year ago I thought you were crazy I knew this would happen. That's why you should only buy plants you really like. I may have 4 rajahs in my growtent but those will take years to grow, and I also plan to sell 2 of them in the future.
