My sister loved fleetwood mac and was a massive fan of stevie nicks, she passed away, and we had a choir sing this song in her honour, my sister had a beautiful soul.

Lindsay Buckingham is a great guitarist too- he knows how to truly match to Stevie’s beautiful lyrics

No auto tune or pitch correction tech. Just plain talent. Legend.

Stevie Nicks told the backstory of "Landslide" on Storytellers. She wrote this song while she and Lindsey were in Aspen. Their careers were stalled after their Buckingham Nicks album didn't do well and they didn't know what to do. Stevie's father had given her a deadline/ultimatum of "if your music career isn't going anywhere, you have to promise you'll go back to college" and she agreed. This song is about that contemplation of should she just give up. A few weeks later Mick Fleetwood called Lindsey... The rest is music history. Stevie is one of the most gifted songwriters of our time. Her words hit one's soul like a sledgehammer.

The queen of the gypsies shall reign forever. Long live the queen! Gold dust woman, if it hasn't been listened to.

The line from this song I build my life around you always makes me cry because I did build my life around my children and then they grow up and the relationship between us changed but I still have built my world around them so I guess a mamma never changes her priorities

That's Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. They were quite the couple and things didn't end well but they made beautiful music with Fleetwood Mac..I grew up in the 70's graduated in 76, so this was my era of music. We really had it good back then. So glad that you are enjoying this era of music.

now you need to listen to the other songbird in the band Christine McVie with her song, Songbird.

Fun facts: This song is about a father-daughter relationship. Stevie Nicks wrote it on the guitar in about five minutes in Aspen, Colorado. She was surrounded by mountains and thinking, "Wow, all this snow could just come tumbling down around me and there is nothing I can do about it." In 2014 she told the New York Times: "I wrote 'Landslide' in 1973, when I was 27, and I did already feel old in a lot of ways. I'd been working as a waitress and a cleaning lady for years. I was tired."

The back story: Lindsey Buckingham (guitar) and Stevie Nicks (singer) were a couple who were in the midst of a very emotional breakup when they wrote this song. The entire album, "Rumours" was written while all the members of the band were holed up in a studio with living quarters while Lindsey & Stevie as well as Christine (keyboards & vocals) & husband John McVie (bass) were breaking up! This goes a long way to explain why all the songs of this landmark album were so charged with emotion!

Stevie Nicks wrote this song in 1974. I think. And it was very popular and still remains one of her most Iconic heart-felt songs today with Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks is one of my all-time favorite songwriters and singers. This song and Silver Spring are just simply beautiful songs. Love your reaction. She and Fleetwood are legendary.

You can understand why millions fell in love with her. She was more than a woman. She exemplified an ideal. Very lovely.

“The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” is a fabulous song, true story. The first time I heard it, I found the story telling so great. The proceeds from the song all went to the families of those who lost their lives
