In the USGS and CSEM sites earthquakes are shown as point events. Occasionally, when the USGS provides a description of the event, a size of the slip is provided. Clearly if Cascadia ruptures, the extent of the slip will be hundreds of miles. I expect that small quakes are of limited enough extent that a point marking on the world map is appropriate, but where is the point at which the size of the slip becomes geographically relevant? Is it worth mentioning in your mentions of "filling in" gaps?

I was thinking that it looks like the earth is unbuckling itself around New Zealand, like I am picturing all these little buckles from the South Pole thru New Zealand and up north along the trench. It was weird when you said unzip. Have you looked at the earths ocean floor from the South Pole thru New Zealand and following the giant crack all the way up? Google earth shows these trenches to look much more severe than they used too but idk. I’d love your opinion of how the trenches look while looking at them live on Google earth. Thank you!

This is a caldera forming volcano which is poorly understood. Not a lot is known about its potential. They haven't even identified which cone erupted. This one bears watching.
