I have a 1996 Subaru Outback. This is the 3rd Outback I’ve owned and he runs perfectly. His name is My Precious. Or P3 since it was the 3rd 1996 Outback I’ve owned. My husband was the one who took car of our cars. He enjoys buying used cars, repairing them then reselling them. Not one of the 3 I’ve owned has ever had major problems. I don’t have the husband any more but I still have my Subaru!

correction edit: it's more of a stylized wagon to compete with the Subaru Outback and possibly some other automakers, still kinda nice though

We just got a cx30 after doing a bunch of research. I support mazda 100% after ditching ford and trying to do their own thing. Plus, for the price, the interiors are hella nice lol.

The outback is better for the following reasons:
Outback has about 20 more cubic feet of cargo space inside.
Outback has multi link rear suspension while the XC-50 has a torsion beam in back.
The CX-50 also has the illusion of looking big, but in reality the back seat feels cramped compared to the outback, also has more hard plastic than the outback.

I think Mazda absolutely killed it with the styling of the CX-50. I would argue its the best looking car Mazda makes right now.

I've driven both. The Subaru outback is a practical, capable off-roader with tons of interior room and amazing all wheel drive. The CX-50 is a city car for people who say they're "outdoorsy".
