How to Reverse the Polarity of a DC Power Supply for the Hovabator 1588

In this video I show you how save money by using a standard, after market power supply with the Hovabator 1588 which requires reverse polarity. Note that you need a 5.5x2.1mm DC jack. The 5.5x2.5mm jacks are very common and the adapters are cheaper, but they WILL NOT work. See below for links to products used in this video.

The only things you have to match are the 12v and the tip polarity. If the device you're powering needs 4 amps you can use a power supply with greater current output.
The device will only draw what it needs.

Guitar pedals also use center negative power.

Hilariously, this is the same exact reason why my guitar pedal power supply wouldnt power the breadboard power board I just got. That's when I remembered that pedals are center neg and so I went and found another power cable that was center positive.

And using that same reverse polarity adapter cable will reverse the polarity of the GQF from what it is as center negative, outer sleeve positive. So whatever the other was used for, the GQF can now power that unit as well when the reverse polarity adapter cable is used in conjunction with a power supply.

My casio keyboard 12volts 1.5A (center negative polarity) adapter accidentally fell into the bath tub and won't work anymore. from the water i plugged it directly to my keyboard and i heard a bit clicking sound from adapter. is it possible to change the adapter's fuse?

you dont have to buy anything.. all you have to do is cut the 2 wires and switch them around.
