Histology would dictate the extent of surgery. A T1a tumor would not require any extended surgery. However T1b tumor at the visceral ( hepatic ) surface of the gall bladder requires radical ( extended) surgery as the GB lacks serosal protection . Port site excision is currently controversial.

Why not call it radical cholecystectomy as is the principle of loco-regional clearance ( enbloc resection ) in cancer ?
