We definitely deserve and need more counters!!! Nice, huge duct taped paper sheets with history written in them. C'mon do it like in old times :)

I think you missed Adam's accent of the "lonely mountain project" it's also 9b

Be a shame if he just sent another 9b (The lonely mountain)

Come to Denmark, guys! You'll be most welcome. Absolutely no mountains save for Bornholm, but bouldering on decrepit old German bunkers on the west coast.

When we are talking about bouldering scoring I think we need a plus system similar to the lead for those who get to the top but dont stick it. It feel unfair to have someone who almost topped have the same score as someone who only managed to get to the zone. But thats just my humble opinion so what does it matter 😄

If Adam actually climbed 8b (per the typo in the description) that would be him chilling on Christmas

Matt gives me dad vibes with the way he awkwardly sings very loudly and try’s to be hip when it really isn’t working!

Terry's first 5 secs 😂. Also, Matt, as a Spaniard that cant roll his Rs, last episode you nailed both. Feeling a bit jealous over here...

“Rubbish skyhooks”, but we are being redundant here…

Maybe Adam is leaving BD to go with something more home grown, and start using Singing Rock?

Fine personal mission to do the 9B and 9a counter for 2022 (will include 9a i guess)

Climbing has always had just three grades: Easy, interesting and impossible. The better the climber, the smaller the range between them. 🙂

So wait, the 9a counter was never tallied?

On the matter of new grades, why not just put it up as percentiles? Instead of trying to put hard numbers on it, just state roughly how many out of the climbing community can do it. The more people that climb a route or problem, the higher the percentile gets.

So a 100-problem is pretty much a simple ladder, since 100% of all climbers would be expected to be able to climb it. People who try their first day of climbing should have a good chance of sending these.
A sport 5a would maybe be a 95 or something. A 7a boulder maybe a 20-30.
On to the really hard stuff, fractions of percentiles would be fine. So sport or boulder 9c would be somewhere around 1/35 million ;-)

But for grading routes for the general population, this would be quite nice, and the best can still show off in the realm of impossibles. This would also naturally move stuff up/down the scales as time goes by, gear and training methods improve, etc.

all modalities matter! 9B counter must include boulder/trad/woman 9a, and I'd say even speed climb records
lol
no, I am kidding about speed, but the rest is entertaining!
