Should You Record Your Own Audiobook

Audiobooks are the fastest growing segment of the book market right now. In 2018 Publishers Weekly reported their growth at 24%. That's enormous! So, if you're a smart non-fiction author, you're thinking about producing your own audiobook. But, if you are, you also might be wondering if you should be the narrator, or if you should hire a professional to do the work for you.

Fortunately, I do a bit of community theater so that's something I recommend to writers. You learn to moderate your voice and give it some emotion (it also helps you get more comfortable doing those personal appearances). Another great video, Julie!

I so enjoyed this video. I find myself in the midst of having a book, they're actually talking about three but I won't hold my breath, being published and more than one person has told me that when the audiobook comes out I should read it. I've recorded two of my own audiobooks so far. There will be more. I don't remember drinking more water, but I average a gallon of water a day anyway. In summer I drink more.
