US and NATO Disappointed by Turkey'd Decision: What's going on?

Turkey is making significant strides in its nuclear energy ambitions, with substantial involvement from Russia and China. The Turkish government, through its Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, has confirmed ongoing negotiations with Russia's state-owned Rosatom for constructing a second nuclear power plant in Sinop, located on the Black Sea coast. This follows the successful collaboration on the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, which is expected to have all four reactors operational by 2028, providing about 10% of Turkey's electricity needs.

In addition to discussions with Russia, Turkey is also in advanced talks with China for a third nuclear power plant in the Thrace region. These negotiations are critical as Turkey aims to diversify its energy mix and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. The country has set a target of reaching 20 GW of nuclear capacity by 2050, including plans for adding 5 GW from small modular reactors.

NATO has expressed concerns regarding Turkey's collaboration with Russia on nuclear power projects, specifically the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. This partnership is seen as potentially increasing Moscow's influence within a NATO member state, raising security and strategic stability concerns for the alliance. The construction and future operation of the Akkuyu plant by Rosatom could give Russia significant leverage over Turkey's energy sector and, by extension, its political decisions. This is not the first confrontation of Turkey and NATO. Turkey's acquisition of the Russian S-400 missile defense system has been a major point of contention. The United States and other NATO allies argue that the S-400 is incompatible with NATO systems and poses a security threat, particularly to the F-35 fighter jet program. As a result, the US imposed sanctions on Turkey and removed it from the F-35 program.

Turkiye, like Hungary, is simply doing what nations should do; provide for their own citizens first. Period. Other nations should get over the prevailing hysteria and divisive nonsense and follow their lead.

When it comes to Türkiye, the USA thinks of the nuclear proliferation, but when Israel already has developed nuclear weapons it says nothing, and looks the other way.

Good for you Turkiye👍 They were so bored waiting for their so called "allies" help them develop new technologies and/or new energy sources. Obvious that those actual "allies" do not stand for the idea of a more powerfull Turkiye, as they still have their "agenda" on these territories.

The u.s and nato now know the feeling of being. Rejected! The collective west had their time with the rest of the world. Now, the rest has moved ahead without the west. 😂

Turkey got as much right to develop Nuclear weapons as America, Russia, China, UK, Israel, Pakistan, India and France. These countries doesn't have any moral right to dictate who may or may not have nuclear weapons.

Since Europe and the US applied economics and military embargo on Turkiye then this will be the result.
Turkiye is becoming more and more independent with each passing year. As a result, the US and European countries are worried about a new rising star.

Due to the wars in the region, Türkiye needed air defense systems and wanted to purchase the Patriot system from its "ally" America by paying for it. However, America did not sell this system to its "ally" Türkiye. Considering that Iran, which is trying to develop nuclear weapons, is to its east, the PKK terrorist organization nests in Iraq to its south, Syria is in a civil war, and Russia, which is a threat to all NATO, is to its north, Türkiye held a tender to fill the gap of the air defense system that its "ally" did not sell even for money. The Russian S-400 system won this tender. As a result, America announced that it would not deliver the F-35 aircraft, for which payment had already been made, to Türkiye. Moreover, America, which provided F-35s to NATO member Greece despite its possession of the S-300 system, stated that the reason for Türkiye's removal from the program was its purchase of the S-400 system.

Perhaps Türkiye is tired of the hypocrisy of its "allies" for decades and of situations where the PKK, which has killed 30, 000 civilians in Türkiye through terrorist activities, and its Syrian extension, the PYD, are armed with American weapons and trained by American officers, only to then cross the Turkish border and open fire on Turkish soldiers. What do you think?

They are not as disappointed as Erdogan was when they tried to implement a regime change in Turkey a few years ago.
