Guys, just because Ramanujan is not in the list, it doesn't make him a bad mathematician and if he was on the list doesn't make him good.

Maths is an art. Ranking mathematicians is like ranking musicians. I like 'The Score' you like 'Imagine Dragons'. That doesn't mean The Score are better than the Dragons. Both have their own charm even if their genre is the same.

Some People like different mathematicians for their approach to teaching. For example for complex anlysis, some people prefer Ahlfors, while others say prefer reading Gamelin. Personally I like the Ahlfors method better. So, I will naturally be biased towards him. But that doesn't mean that I believe Gamelin is bad or anything. He too is great. Just that I don't like his style as much as I like Ahlfors style.


Similar is the case with different fields. I pursue mathematical logic. Hence, I find work of Turing, Church, Godel, Post beautiful. But I hate number theory. Hence I don't find results found by number theorists (like Ramanujan) interesting. (Ramanujan was also an anlysist and topologist if I am not wrong).

So, don't think that you can 'rank' these geniuses, they are much too good for that. You can have favourites. Say some will find Ramanujans work beautiful, some Rudin's, some Turings and so on.

I believe maybe the creator of the video is not too fond of Ramanujans research and thats all right. However the title is a bit misleading. Maybe my favourite mathematicians is a better title. There is no such thing as best mathematician. There are most citated mathematicians, wealthiest mathematician, tallest mathematician, fattest mathematicians, but no best mathematician.
