"The Man Who Knew Infinity" is not given. The best Mathematician movie I've ever watched. The best one of them all.

After reading the comments, I have to check out "The Man Who Knew Infinity" - thank you all for the recommendation.

Seen all of them and liked them all. My fave has to be “A beautiful mind” the fact that you can overcome a mental disease has to be proof of how strong and smart this individual has to be. Can’t even wrap my head around it.

A couple of excellent British films are missing from the list...
-- *A Brilliant Young Mind (2014)* about an autistic teenage boy who finds himself on the UK team at the International Maths Olympiad.
-- *The Man Who Knew infinity (2015)* true story of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the brilliant Indian mathematician who grew up in poverty in Chennai and had no formal maths education, but earned a scholarship to Cambridge University where he produced groundbreaking new theorems.

Before you write down *''The man who knew infinity''* you do realise that 99% of the comments have already done that don't you??

Nr 1 is "The man who knew infinity" because it is about a great mathematician, Ramanujan! And it talks about mathematics, not about crying over un unhappy chilhood!

#1 McKenna Grace is an unbelievable young actress who is perfect for this role! She's simple, but brilliant in this part. Extremely exceptional acting to make this part very believable. She makes this part work with her acting abilities, almost grown up like an adult in this small body...

A MAN WHO KNEW INFINITY IS STILL THE BEST!!

Two of these movies are fiction. Srinivasan Ramanujan is a towering figure in mathematics. A century after his death, people are still finding treasures in his notebooks! Someone should make a movie about Euler, Riemann, Maxwell, or Newton. I'll watch those movies.

I enjoyed these films and appreciated the true life stories behind them I went to see Hidden Figures in a theatre 4 times while it was playing. Fascinated and wondering how many other stories about women geniuses have been kept hidden.. now looking for the film The Man Who Knew Infinity.

I nominate 'Gifted' should have been #1. All the others talk about the struggle, but 'Gifted' goes a step beyond. It glimpses into the price that has to be payed by these individuals and window into what they give up to achieve these great discoveries. I believe if you watch this movie you can't but moved by its story.

The Man Who Knew Infinity. In the mathematical community, this is the best. Faithful to the true biography of one of the top mathematicians of the 20th century. Ramanujan was right up there with John Nash for sure, almost at the level of a Grothendieck or Hilbert. "A Beautiful Mind" was a cringeworthy movie for those who really knew the story of John Nash and his accomplishments. Good Will Hunting shouldn't be on the list at all, mathematics was a marginal theme at best and they didn't write about it with any kind of real understanding.

The true saying is: "People have no idea what they have, until they lose it".
Also, the story of Nash and his wife is by far the best, because not only is the real story even weirder than the fiction, but it is indeed real. Much like Alan Turing's story.
