One of the most underrated cars BMW has ever made imo. If properly taken care of the engines are very reliable also.

A good alternative to the BRZ and FR-S if you want less road and wind noise and a bigger back seat. Even if you can't find the rare manual, the automatic isn't nearly the penalty you'd think it would be (unlike the twins). Another great thing about the 1-Series-- it's a coupe where you can actually see over your left shoulder, which is rare for the last 15 years.

I just bought a 2008 128 6MT w coil overs and m3 sway bars. Unreal awesome! I also own a 2008 M3 and I actually prefer the 128 because I’m not going 200kph between turns on the canyon roads and I can actually row through some gears. On the track though, I still prefer the M ;)
