Mixed voice vs pulling chest: how to know what you're doing #shorts

Have you ever wondered how to know and feel if you are using mixed voice or simply pulling chest?

It's all about resonance placement (and therefore, vowels)

I'm sharing this exercise which helped me understand when I'm mixing properly vs just pulling chest.

Are you able to properly mix and detect it? Stuck with pulling chest like I was? Or did the exercise not make sense to you at all? let me know in the comments!

I can do chest and high notes effortlessly with nice resonance but my problem is IN THE MIDDLE (in the break), I don't have a clue for what should I do, so I strain a little or break into falsetto and sounds horrible :(

Edit: After so many trial and error, now I can blend chest and head voice smoothly!

Hello! I am a baritone, 19 yrs old and i really want to improve my singing. My vocal range in chest is D#2-D4 that is my comfortable range, I really want to expand my range in singing but this what you called " mix voice" i really want to learn it maybe you could do some tutorials about it? Actually i can sing above E4-G4 but my voice feels so thin😑 I can also hit A4 but i dunno feels like i sang in on my throat LoL.

I’m definitely mixing but it just does not sound as good as yours yet. And I’m still having some trouble keeping the lower end of my mix stable. It’s always easier for me to satay on a head voice mix than a chesty one.

Love your videos, very down to earth! Than you for them!
Do you have any idea why I can only use my mix above like G# but my chest ends around D-E. what the hekk can I do with the notes in between??? So frustrating because literally every contemporary pop song sing the chorus around F#… :/

Correct there should never be a change in emission but hight notes require more energy and breath support. Hight notes arnt easy

Thank you for this! But i'm still finding it hard to sing from head voice to chest voice. Any tips?

How big of an impact does having a breathy headvoice have when I'm trying to mix? I feel like I run into problems while mixing because my headvoice isn't super solid yet, whereas my chest isn't airy at all (ofc).

What if my break seems to break pretty high for a male? I think I’m pulling chest but I don’t really “break” my voice just gets tight and my sound gets very throaty, shrill and sometimes shouty. But again there’s singers who are shouty and throaty but still are mixing? Especially is I can reach up to a Eb5, is this pulled chest or just a overly chesty mix? Also I’m sometimes capable or reduce the shouty nature as in how loud but even when I reduce the volume it still sounds like a soft shout

How do I mix closed vowels without entering into a lighter mix or head voice?

I have watched every single tutorial on youtube about mixed voice, like everysingle one, for 6 months now(yours were the best) but still can't squeak a G4 wihtout straining (I am 15, self taught).
I'm starting to lose hope, I practice everyday for like an hour, and nothing seems to improve. The only improvement that I noticed is my falsetto range extended by 6 semitones (went from f#5 to a C6). But my chest voice ? Stayed the same.
Any tip would be appreciated, I'm so tired of watching tutorials that show you some random guy belting a C5 and they just tell you to sing lighter 🙄 🥴

Hey! I can switch from chest to head voice without hearing any breaks, but when I change from chest to head it goes straight to head voice. I can’t control the mixed voice. Any tips?

I can sometimes do this but not all ways. Very frustrating. I heard your cartoon voice video and can also do that voice but feels to tight and weak ..bummer
