Ya literally said “we won’t include teams that have moved & still have the same name” yet ya included the Grizzlies, Dodgers, Stars, Colts, & Lakers SMH

They totally glossed over the Sonics in the 90s. With Shawn kemp and Gary Payton, they were a force in the west.

Uhh, the Sonics failed to compete in the 90's?! Who writes these things? The Sonics won 4 division titles in the 90's. In their entire franchise they had only won 1 before the 90's. The Sonics in the 90's were a powerhouse team in the NBA reaching the NBA Finals and having the best record of the entire league another year.

They should have included the Atlanta Thrashers.

The sonics were a force in the mid 90’s, get your facts right. GP and Kemp led them to the finals in 1996, let’s not paint them as a losing team

I'm confused. Did I misunderstand when they said teams that moved, but kept their names would not be included in this list? If I heard that correctly, wouldn't that mean the Grizzlies, Dodgers, Colts and Lakers should not be included?

A few honorable mentions: The Seattle Pilots moved to become the Milwaukee Brewers (the Mariners came to town a few years later after the city finally build a decent stadium.) The San Diego Clippers moved up the road to LA (though they started out as the Buffalo Braves). The California Golden Seals moved to Clevland, but then folded (the last sports team in North America to do so) and most of their assists were merged into the North Stars. I’d say the Washington Senators are more important than the Dodgers, because the city lost the team twice… first version became the Twins, and the second version became the Rangers.

“We’re not gonna use any teams that relocated cities but still advertise as the same team” you also missed the Washington Senators they were around from the beginnings of baseball and became the Minnesota twins in 1961 then became a team again as an expansion in the late 60s and became the Texas Rangers as a separate team. I feel like that’s huge

There's also the New York baseball Giants. They had some great history during their time at the Polo Grounds. They ended up moving out west at exactly the same time the Dodgers did.

Your facts are a little messed up. The Sonics were one of the top teams throughout the 90s. It wasn't till the 2000s they started to fall

I legit did not know that about the Lakers. You learn something new every day. 🏀😊

"Struggling to compete as the 80's turned into the 90's..." Who wrote that crap?! The 90's Sonics were great! Gary Payton was known as the Greatest Defensive Point Guard in NBA History, Shawn Kemp was one of the best Forwards in the league at that point, and Detlef Schrempf is arguably the player who revolutionized the 6th Man position. They were arguably the toughest team the Chicago Bulls beat in the NBA Finals. Even after the 90's Sonics, Seattle had the dynamic back court of Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis in the 2000's, one of the first back court duos in NBA history to have 2 guards average over 20 points per game each. The Sonics were the reason I am a fan of the NBA today and it still sickens me that they do not have an NBA team in Seattle right now.

Come back to Seattle. We need the Sonics.

Can’t blame Seattle for not wanting to fund a stadium though. The “economic benefits” are minimal at best compared to the price tag. No public funds should ever be used for stadiums. The teams have enough money to build their own in most instances.

Fail to mention these teams: Atlanta Flames, Atlanta Thrashers, Kansas City Scouts, Cleveland Barons, St.Louis Hawks, .

Honorable Mention: the Cleveland Browns. While the team technically returned to the NFL in 1999, the original team relocated in 1995 and became the Baltimore Ravens.

This video is poorly titled, as none of these franchises stopped existing. Clearer to say "Top 10 Sports Teams that Relocated"
