You should win an award for relevant and interesting content. 1700 is alive and kicking and seems like it has aged like fine wine. It's an amazing, under-appreciated cpu. Run it at 3.7-3.9 ghz @ 3440x1440p ultrawide, ultra settings with up to a 3070 or 6800. Under these gpu-bound conditions, it will have frame-rates that just about match the newer cpu's in non- super high fps or e-sports titles. Enjoy the smoothness of 8core/16 threads for under $150 used. 2600x is a decent choice, too, but can't match the 1700's multicore performance. A 3600 can, however. So choose the 3600 or a 2700x over the 1700 if those are options near its price point.

R5 2600 is the obvious choice, best middleground between single core and number of cores, got one for 85 euros with wraith prism included here in Portugal.

Ive got 3100 since 2020.. and serve me well.. im not heavy gamer.. but i do play competitive games like valorant and overwatch.. but i wanna upgrade to 3600 in next year.. or just switch tu 5 gen cpus like 5500/5600?

I suppose my 1700 fairs well in this limited comparison. In Gamer's Nexus last video about the 1700, it was quite far behind the pack when compared to many modern CPUs. However, I'll still be keeping mine for quite a while longer because it does everything I need it to. It's nice to see it keeping up with these other CPUs though.

Most of the 3100's will go over 4.5ghz. Mine is sitting at 4.6ghz at 1.31v, but it's not capable of driving over 3400mhz cl14, my 32gb Gskill's 3200 b-die, cl14.
