Anyone living in a bicycle country knows only locking your front wheel is the stupidest way of securing your bike

When I lived and worked 10/15 min outside of Breda (The Netherlands), my co-workers and I forgot to lock our bike a few times. It stood there the whole day, at the bus stop next to the main road, clearly unlocked. Never got taken. One time, people who lived across the road locked it and held onto the key until my co-worker came back. Proof there's still kindness in the world.

I live just outside of Stuttgart, in my village no one locks anything. My neighbor left his laptop bag on the trunk of his car after returning home and it was still there in the morning. It’s one of the best parts of my town.

used to live in a small city in Germany, sometimes I don't even lock my bike when going to university, can not do that in Hamburg. it's not a Berlin problem, it's big cities problem.

In the UK, they'd have not only taken the front wheel, they'd have taken the rack, too.

I always have 3 locks when I leave my bike at the station (UK). Always have more locks than the surrounding bikes, lock the wheels to the frame and lock the frame to a rack. Only risk remains they flatten your tires for the “fun” of it or steal your bell or saddle.

In Brazil 🇧🇷 you get your bike robbed before you get to park it. And your cell phone too for good measure. You feel lucky you were not stabbed... well, at least not this time! 😮😂

I live in Amsterdam and use a heavy duty motorcycle lock and a wheel lock on the rear wheel. Never gets stolen...let me check again

It happened to me in Japan, at the university bicycle parking lot.

I left my bicycle unlocked by accident MULTIPLE times and well, I never returned to an empty rack
