Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the F4 Phantom trying to strike SAM sites in an hostile environment. Hope you guys enjoy!

I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

When I was 8 years old (in 94), my mother met a guy she married. Turned out he was a tunnel rat in Vietnam and a POW (apparently most tunnel rats were POWs, KIA, or MIA still). I got to go to DC with him when I was 12, they had finished the wall by then if im remembering my years correctly, and I wanted to go see it, he didn't.
He asked my why I wanted to go and I told him it was built FOR him and his friends. He said it doesn't change a thing.
A few weeks after getting home, he told me he regretted not going to the wall. I asked if he was ashamed of what happened and he said no, he was just wasn't ready yet.
About a year later we were watching the news and I mentioned that America has never lost a war and that we shouldn't be afraid of anyone. He looked at me and asked you don't think we lost Vietnam? I said no, America is the greatest country ever and we never lose. He said but the communists still took over. I said, that wasn't their fault but the politician's fault and the military was undefeated.

He died from cancer less than a year later. We never got to go to the wall.

A few years ago the traveling the traveling wall came to town, with updated list of every vet that passed since 2002(?) and his name was added. I have a rubbing of his name up in my office.

My grandfather was an F4 pilot in Vietnam, he was was bombing truck convoys every other night in Laos.

I love these kind of videos. Not just a plain dogfight, but a real misson. Also a mix of cinematics and cockpit views are just right. You are doing great job Longshot! Keep on! 🙂

Man it would be great if you could do some of these Vietnam missions with the A-6 or a mission with the Crusader

My uncle was an F4 pilot in Vietnam and at least one tactic for sam evasion was locating the smoke plume and flying towards it before breaking.

Love the Phantom content! Would be interesting to see the F-5 Tiger II as well, especially considering how almost "forgotten" it seems in DCS

I grew up in the flight path of an AFB as a kid in the late 70s and early 80s. As they flew directly over my house on a daily, that big green monster stole a place in my heart. She looks tough and fast, even on the ground. Not to mention the tons of ordinance she can haul. F4 smoke is in my soul..love your videos.

The brevity code for a Shrike launch is actually Shotgun. I think with the HARM, Magnum was used because the HARM is considerably more accurate than the Shrike.

1st & 3rd rocket strikes were on time. I can only imagine as you were editing and found the mig was underneath you. That is as real as it gets, so many times that happened even in Korea and especially in mig Alley in Vietnam. One nugget had a bogey under his portside just under the nose and he could not see it and is captain was telling him to shoot. His reply was shoot what and you know his head was on a swivel in it didn't reveal itself until the debrief. Thank God he made it back to ship for that. Debrief. The video showed everything and just how close it gets. Neither one of them saw each other and they were within 100 yards of each other. That was one awesome video! That was just a ROCKIN' 😎👊 I have to check out that mod the F4 that I have. It's a Navy four but the upper left wires are hanging out. I believe it's a VFN and no way to activate RWR. I'm not PC compliant so whenever I find somebody they help me load it up. Going to check out your mod and kick the one I have out or it serves no purpose other than a ride. Love it though! That was one awesome video! Labor of love and it shows 💯

When I was a kid, they had RF-4s and later F-4G SEAD Phantoms at Gowen Field in Boise.

F4 looks so damn cool, those damn SA-2 (Flying telephone poles) were def not made to shoot down fighters. One saving grace so that you can dodge them. Nice move my dude, I thought you were about to be confetti when it came into the valley.
