What I wish I had known is that a Computer Science degree does not get you a job. You have to build a portfolio of projects to prove to employers that you actually know how to code. Learning how to market yourself is very important!

Man, I needed this! Thanks for sharing your gems. Totally agree with what you said about not having to fit in the mold of the nerd. People are surprised when I tell them what I do and have actually said, "you don't look like you're in IT or software "
