Aw man! One of my favorite characters from Connie Hawkins’ book, _Foul._ The story about Paul and the housewarming gifts was pretty funny (and kinda petty 😂). R.I.P. Paul Silas.

I first saw Paul Silas during the mid 70s when he was a part of those Boston Celtic Championships and then during the late 70s as part of the Seattle SuperSonics championship team. He was known simply as "The Chairman of the Boards". He was a very unselfish player, and would do the little things like setting picks and rebounding. To me Paul Silas and Wes Unseld were 2 of the most unselfish players in NBA History, because they were content to doing the little things that win championships, such as blocking their man out after a shot, setting screens for the shooters and rebounding the ball. It is no mistake that in addition to being the 2 most unselfish players in NBA history, that Paul Silas and Wes Unseld were also 2 of the nicest people too. Both have passed on to the afterlife, but they have their mark on the NBA, and both are members of the NBA Hall of Fame.
