Paul Siias was a giant of a man who played with his heart and size. He did all of the rough and tough work while others took the scoring glory. He was a great coach who coached his teams with the same grit he played with. RIP Paul you were admired, respected and cheered. You will be missed.

He didn´t die...he´s just been physically relocated in infinity. Enjoyed watching him on those sundays in the 1970´s. Thanks Paul!

He was a great rebounder and defensive player who made major contributions to Celtics championships....An excellent coach too...he played for the Sonics when I was a kid living in Vancouver so. I was excited when he was traded to Boston

As a Celtics fan the 70s teams don't get their due sandwiched between the Russell-Cousy dynasty & the Bird years. I think in 76 the Celtics starting 5 represented the East in the All-Star game-Havlicek, Silas, Cowens, Jo Jo & Charlie Scott.

I have only met 1 famous sports star and that was Paul Silas. I was a Celtics fan and He was one of my favorite players. In 1981 I was in School at San Diego Naval Base. We were given Free Tickets to a Clippers game. When I got there the stadium was almost empty I could sit anywhere so I sat behind the Clippers bench. I took my banner and went up to coach Silas while they were doing there shoot around and said " Mr. Silas can I get your autograph. He said " you want my autograph?'" and I said " yes you are the best player here". He laughed signed it at yelled out to Henry Bibby and handed him the banner and said take this out and get the guys to sign it. I don't think that could happen today. No one would care about a sailor asking for an autograph. The only players I knew on that team were all from UCLA Swen Nater ( Bill Walton's back up at UCLA) Henry Bibby and Sidney Wicks. I remember San Diego was winning at the half by 20 points but lost the game They were not good. Michael Ray Richardson lit them up in the second half. They finished the season 17-65 Coach Silas would end up getting fired after the next season. I don't think it was his fault no coach could have won with the players he had to work with. My memory of Him was a smiling very nice man.

NBA on TNT - you guys are the best. Whether it's analytical basketball or heartfelt tributes or clowning each other or making fun of each other...
The NBA won't be the same without you guys.
And when they remove the 3-pt line. 🍻
Love you guys.
