DJ Quik flipped the hell out of this for AMG on “Vertical Interlude”. Can’t believe no one else mentioned this yet.

Bobbi Humphrey is a class of her own or one of those jazz artists that don't get a lot of credit

Mestizo Curren$y brought me here. Listening to him introduced me to the beautiful sounds of Ms. Bobbing Humphrey

I saw Bobbi Humphrey and the Mizell brothers (all first preformed with jazz trumpeter great Donald Byrd, during his commercial phase) in concert in Dallas, TX at Bishop College (now Paul Quinn College) in 1976.

So smooth and melodic, and to think, my 22 year-old son sent this to me because he likes, and listen to some of the same type of music that I do.

What a fantastic Humphrey tune...Bobbi settles in nice and mellow with her flute while Chuck Rainey rocks study on the bass. Smokin' upload.

Mestizo is a term historically used in Spain and Hispanic America that originally referred to a person of combined European and Indigenous American descent, regardless of where the person was born. The term was used as an ethnic/racial category for mixed-race castas that evolved during the Spanish Empire. Although broadly speaking, Mestizo means someone of mixed European/indigenous heritage, the term did not have a fixed meaning in the colonial period. It was a formal label for individuals in official documentation, such as censuses, parish registers, Inquisition trials, and other matters. Individuals were labeled by priests and royal officials as mestizos, but the term was also used for self identification.[2]
