RJ45 plug on UTP cable - Installing

There are two basic standards for 100Base-T networks: * T568B (more popular) * T568A
In the case of identical connections on both sides we get a "straight-through" cable. Applying two different standards on the sides we have "crossover" cable.
To connect a computer to a switch (hub, router) we use "straight-through" cable, but computer - computer connections usually require "crossover" cable.

Seriuosly i have to thank you alot, ten years and i never thought about installing or trying to install a cable..but today after watching your video i just made my first cable and it works just fine...i am re-running your video with that cable ^^. Wish i could order some of your products but i live in a different country and getting things from outside is pretty confusing. Anyways thanks.

Had the same problem at first. The trick is to really flatten and straighten the wires with your thumbs before cutting to length. Took me 20 minutes and a cup of tea to do this - my fingers were aching by the end. Flatten the wires again after cutting, then slowly push them in. It takes some patience, but works ok.

@dipolnet Bangladesh..some-were in Asia...most people would say its India but no we are a separate country now...we are way behind in Information Technology even tho we know that lot have changed and better things are out there..its just our government is so lame. Wish we had better Air cargo services so that we could bring in things lot faster and don't forget we still lack the proper credit card services for online transaction. plus that is the default Straight color coding. in crossover it's quite different on the other end. and in roll over it's just the opposite of the straight over color coding, if you make it right and use it in a LAN tester, the Straight through cable will go from 1 up to 8, in roll over the light will be mixed up.

Nice Vid But I'm getting frustrated. I've been youtubin this subject all afternoon and nobody explains how after the cable is untwisted and strait, how they get it that close together to cut and enter the connector.
