This application uses two tanks: one with special resin beads and the other filled with brine. It works on the principle of ion exchange, softening hard water by substituting sodium (salt) for hard minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron.

Thank you for this video. So is the water flow always pressurized or does the valve stop the pressurization from happening? Not sure I understand the expanding of the resin step if there is always a flow of water in the expansion part of the tank.
