I made this when I had like 30 subscribers, and now I have over 700! Most of my subscribers came from this video, so I just want to say thanks for the support, I appreciate it.

Already straight piped my 02 3.0, I was JUST about to go to the exhaust shop and true dual it, but honestly, i love the sound it makes now, thanks!

I did this on my 99 manual ranger (1 previous owner with just over 100, 000km on it) and it ran fine for a few days… after that, it didn’t want to start and bogged up on me. It fit symptoms of either a broken MAF sensor or something in the computer tricking it into thinking it’s receiving much more air than it was. I put the funnel back and it ran fine. If you want to try this, I would say give it a try but make sure you keep everything so you can put it back if it goes wrong.

Just tried on my 99 2.5 4 cylinder definitely has more throttle response so I no longer have to floor it everywhere

I did this to my 2.5L Ranger, and also bought a K&N air filter, and it's a noticable difference. I pretty much did a poor man's cold air intake. But it actually works, and it's not a hot air intake. There's no sense in spending $250-$300 for a setup, only to get maybe a 5HP bump. But ONLY if you do it in a boxed setup.

Just did this last night 4/21/22 and I drove it for 7.5 miles on the highway and notice a much smoother ride. Will post again after I get through a full tank of gas. 13.1 mpg on my last tank for reference. Also added sea foam to the tank as well.

Good tip. I tried it on my 2010 Ranger Sport. 4.0l stick. It's quieter. And seems much more responsive from naught to 85. The snorkel does provide a fun little sound on my downshifts, but if it kills the overall performance and does nothing else beyond nifty sound then this mod is the best I've seen so far. Now if I could just get a Hurst mod.

Bro thank you it sounds badass now and it's a little faster best if you have a ranger people I highly recommend you doing this it's actually 100% works

Did this to my 2000 Ford ranger XLT single cab 2.5l 4 cylinder. It's ALOT more responsive than it was with the funnel, although the noise remains the same, but getting to 60 mph isn't a struggle as much anymore and getting to 90 mph feels like it can go much faster if it had a longer 5th gear (mine is a manual converted)

Thanks for your video. I had to replace a bad windshield wiper fluid pump motor and you have to take the air filter box out to get to the motor. This video really helped me out with taking the box out and not breaking anything to do it.

I did this to my 99 with the same 3.0 and noticed it was slightly more responsive. Seems like it accelerates better getting on the freeway but it could just be me thinking my truck is faster now lol

I did the airbox trick after I rebuilt my rear-end a 8.8 posi with 5.13 gears with 35 inch tires and now I have better take off than it did with the 14 inch tires with a 4.10 gear and the gas milage is way better

Did this to my 04 4.0 ranger and I definitely notice a slight increase in smoother acceleration believe it or not. Thx 🙏

Best cheap version I've seen yet on the Ranger. I definitely did not want to spend a lot of money and this I'll do this to my 2011 Ford Ranger and see how it does with my 2.3 L.

So my thoughts are the rectangular scoop . Open it up & use more of its rectangular space . And the air box open that hole up more to match the now larger rectangular scoop. Use ABS plastic engine side & top side to block heat .
