Vietnamese here and I'll provide you guys with a correction: The girls in the picture are wearing "ao dai", which basically means "long shirt". It consists of a long piece of farbic that is worn over the neck and a trouser. "Ao dai" can be worn by both male and female, but it is uncomfortable to wear one because it limits mobility and traps heat (which is hell in Vietnam's tropical climate). As a result, we don't wear them everyday, only in special occasions or in the autumn season. Normally, Vietnamese uniform consists of black trouser/skirt and white chemise.

We almost had to wear to school uniform in the Indianapolis public schools, but I moved to a suburban school and then 2008. All things went to hell as far as homeownership so I moved to the middle of nowhere in Indiana.

yep, green skirts for girls whos class is 1-7 and girls for higher class 8-10 is green fhanek and green pants for boys, white shirt for all, bottle green tie for both boys and girls, green ribbon for girls, red belt for girls and green with white line in the middle for boys, and black shoes for all.
its a regular school uniform for days like monday, tuesday, thursday, friday.
we have different uniform for wednesday and saturday.

I'm one of those lucky people who went to a school that was basically in the woods, we didn't have a school uniform. We can wear whatever we wanted as long as it was appropriate. I'm very grateful that I didn't have to be one of them kids wearing a school uniform. Even though my childhood was so depressing and lonely I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, be that as it may I am so grateful that I wasn't forced to wear a crappy uncomfortable school uniform while being bullied for my whole entire school experience. That would have made my childhood way worse so I'm so happy and grateful that my childhood was the way it was instead of me having to wear a unnecessary and uncomfortable school uniform

As a South African, that is one of the MANY uniforms we wear, it's usually formal mixed with a casual uniform. The uniform differs in every school, but here is what it would normally look like:
Formal: For boys and girls a grey or white buttoned shirt, for boys grey shorts and for girls a grey skirt. These are usually the same across schools with the school logos on the shirt pockets.
Casual: Usually some type of polyester, comfortable shirt paired with comforrable shorts. These range with every school and usually represents the school's colours.
