COMPONENTS - Solid all around... good card quality, tokens, board, etc. The only annoyance is that the board sleeves can be very tight and tough to get cards out of.

Damn I shoulda jumped on my idea.I had this idea a couple of years ago of building sleeves into the board and player boards To change up locations and abilities but I didn't think people would go for it

Fair review and would not disagree with anything you said. Having said that, and cuz I am a story afficonado who just wants to see where the story goes, I love that combat and skill tests are elegantly designed (aka simple) and don't mind the 'not dying' effect. All of this allows me to better chase that bigger story in delicious bite-sized chunks, and with the 'memory' of the game being what it is, even setup and teardown is a breeze compared to other story campaign games. This, for me at least, is the best game I've played in 2022 so far. Thanks, Mike!

Were some things I hadn't considered when watching videos.

One thing you didn't mention was that the skill tests can be really tough, and frustrating
Having seen Colin's first playthrough and Doug Herring's run through of the first 2 chapters mere mortals who the Draw Bag Gods despise, the skill tests are all but an auto fail!
Poor Doug passed only a few in the firsts two chapters.
Colin has the luck of the Irish, so it doesn't bother him lol

The combat system does look cool though and overall I thought the mechanisms were interesting.

Great review Mike but I would also consider the combat system a con. Extremely boring push your luck mechanism as the feats you draw are random. This was a complete miss for me and up on my For Trade shelf after the first adventure

My fix for the wyrd cards is to not limit it to 1 wyrd card per character. Then the tension doesn't go away. And if you were to gain a wyrd card but there are none left, that's permanent death or retirement for that character. I'm surprised that this isn't at least offered as a variant. Such an easy fix, and it keeps the game interesting. (Works well with 2 characters. May be too punishing with 4 characters?)

Houserule the rotating items if you don't like it. Maybe have one active and discard if you want to use another.

If i had to get only one of this kind of game ( srory line, figurines, map...) Which one would be the best ? This one seem of good quality (but maybe too much on the luck side for the combat?)

It look beautifull anyway

I was waiting worst but 2 pro 1 mix and 2 cons... is ok for a game that went through a lot of problem. I currently playing and I can give 4 out of 6 that may will drop to 3 if the story will not engage enought.

Sadly that's probably the most positive (unbiased) review I've seen of this game. It looks simplistic, unfinished, and frankly boring...and from the other reviews I've seen, the story appears to be somewhere between bad and mediocre. Glad I didn't back this, but I'm sure there are plenty who will have fun with it.

This game rules as written is too punishing. It just attacks you for trying to explore. Want to do a side quest? Here, make this skill check that the core character in the box quite literally can NOT pass. If they fail, the board itself gets permanently worse. Uh huh, thanks for that.

House rule time. If a skill check shows up that causes you to auto fail, we now add temporary runes that allow you to be able to pass. Then only draw 5 runes instead of 7. If you pass, the adrenaline causes you to lose a health. so you're still very likely to fail, but I don't believe in auto fails, so I say there has to be at least a chance.

Overall it's fine, but I can't believe they spent a full extra year on this just to have it still be like this.

So a huge delay and STILL needed time to refine. Poor spelling/grammar is inexcusable, how hard is it to skim over your own work and check it?
