Steeped in epic Nordic and Celtic myths and sagas, Trudvang Legends places players in the roles of legendary heroes who make their mark on a dynamic, everchanging fantasy world.

The game — based on the Swedish RPG, Trudvang Chronicles — thrusts players into a cycle of epic sagas in which their achievements change not only the world itself, but the very rules by which gods, peoples and nature interact. They will quest through an interwoven series of adventure books, and the results of their choices will echo through history: changing the relationships between sovereign nations, usurping kings, creating new waygates, or even locking and unlocking parts of the map.

Change in Trudvang Legends manifests physically as parts of the board actually change, making the actions of previous hero generations affect future sagas. However, the changes are only as permanent as long as history remembers them, which makes the game endlessly replayable, and even playing the same adventure book repeatedly will have a completely different feeling because the world itself has changed. Heroes, following a path of destiny, will even become historical fixtures as they become kings, guildmasters, or even gods!

Trudvang is a fairly light (mechanics-wise), though mature(story-wise) campaign game. It has heavy story-telling elements and light bag-building elements. My group is about a third of the way through the campaign (based on the mini's we've encountered). It was a lot of fun to paint the minis and the frost giant (big troll as you called him), was my favorite to paint. I'm pretty sure you have the current KS box, as they made everyone two-wave because of the development delays. If you're getting the rest of the KS, they do (in theory) have better tokens for the bag building, which I'm looking forward to as well as a wealth of other content.

Downsides of the game. The combat can feel a bit same-y with the relatively few minis, but to be honest, I haven't really noticed. The XP system was not designed for gamers and I highly recommend two house rules to adjust it (1st is 4 XP to level rather than 3) (2nd is you can spend level ups to add a non-wild token to your bag instead of upgrading feats). The biggest downside of the game is that the Book of Sagas is in desperate need of a copy-editor.

There were plastic tokens for the bag in the kickstarter to back. Many people are dissabpointed by the fighting rules and the poor bagbuilding, I heared about optional rules at bbg to improve the playing experience.

Though i must say it is not the game we were promised during the campaign. I still found myself decently interested to continue my journey in Trudvang. As I don't have that many campaign games i think i'll be able to play throught everything. But yeah i regret a bit taking this instead of the isofarian guard :/

I backed it on KS and still haven't played it yet. The reviews have me disappointed and my group is still trying to finish some other games first.

Most reviews have ranged from meh to terrible, so I can't imagine the retail version is any better. A complete dumpster fire of a project. I feel bad for the backers that invested so much and waited so long, just to end up with this. I figured I'd wait for retail, but after seeing the final product...oof...hard pass.
