I think we all agree REEF THERAPY should be in the top ten!!!!

Reef Therapy is what I listen to when I mow the grass. Now that it's cold I haven't been able to get my weekly dose of reef therapy. I'm going to need to change that and listen more in the shower 😆

ReefBeef should have been on your list of great knowledge base channels.

Good episode. Regarding putting a pump in your sump, I prefer to have dead spots in my sump for gathering waste. I use a bucket head shop vac to clean it up. If I remember correctly, they are $25-30 and attach to the top of a 5 gallon bucket. Its about 2.5-3 gallon capacity before the float shuts off the vac.

Great Discussions guys! Thanks for all you do. Wait, What siccee pump does mark use in his bubble magus and which bubble magus?

Great talk as always. With the PH subject hipe, I would be really interested in a reef therapy on this subject. I sense you guys have a more comprehensive insight that would complement the general present opinion.

Powdered All For Reef for me #1 all day! Rock solid numbers ALWAYS! I hated the liquid cause it would run me 43.00 for 1000ml that lasted me a hair over a month and now it’s 46.00 for 5000ml! The phrase “game changing” is thrown around and I can’t stand hearing it but I can’t think of how else to describe this stuff. Add that to an 89.00 kamoer doser and all of my dosing requirements are met. I have been in the hobby for 20 years and this is at the top of my list for best aquarium products EVA!! Once dialed in (the hard part) it does what it needs to do without issue.

I was a little supprised that the Reefi Uno LED was not part of the selection given its spectrum (heavy blue/violet), price (350-400usd) and power (180W) but good that it was not overlooked

The Seachem Aquavitro Sentia Dose is definitely going to change the aquarium landscape. Way underrated and a surprisingly quiet start. The aqua vitro brand has great legs and will absolutely grow this year.

I totally agree about the support being factored into the price and my decision to buy. I had RedSea put me through the paces just to replace the valve on the end of the RSK300 Skimmer drain hose that I’d just purchased. Probably a part that costs less than a dollar for them. I get them wanting the receipt but then the pushed for a detailed letter about what was happening and a video of it leaking. Seriously? I’ll tell you that when I built out the rest of the Red Sea tank that was going to be all Red Sea, the lights, dosing pumps are now ANYTHING but Red Sea even though it cost me more.

Great episode as always guys. Can you provide more information on the books you mentioned? Really trying to learn more about how everything works

My favorite part was watching Jake hold back his comments about auto top-off devices. We all know how he feels about them :p

Mark should try the Octopulse 4 instead of the Tunze. Tons of turbulent flow, super quiet, and probably available. Price is a lot lower too…

Hey Mark and Jake, random but I can't find ANY resources on this topic, maybe you guys can point me in the right direction. "Just how much waterflow is needed to keep a 120 gallon reef tank oxygenated during a power outage" (I do have a generator for long term outages but for when I'm not home). Is it as simple as like 600gph directed to the surface for agitation or do I need to keep one of my gyres going at full speed which is way higher. Maybe a good topic for the next episode! Thanks boys and love the content!

Bubble Magus for the win! Elite 5 is a skimmer that certainly surprised me. Have it on a 60g Cube.

Ive been keeping reef tanks for about 20 years, but had my first saltwater tank in 1982 when i was a tween. I would love to see generalizations addressed. Generalizations such as high, medium, low flow/light; keeping parameters “stable” …. A 10% 20% water change is a 10-20% change in nitrate, phosphate, and other elements; 20x, 30x, 40x etc flow, etc. I think tons of people get bogged down in the generalizations used in reefing.
