Beth acting like she's above all this while trying to manipulate the therapist is so in character. She probably called a family therapy just so a figure of authority can tell her family off for her lmao

What's great about this scene is the therapist is actually incredibly productive and understanding, and she cuts straight to the issues. She lets the family make their own conclusions, but toward the end of the episode, she gives her own perspective.

Beth is so wrapped up in earning her father's affection, she just keeps trying to redirect attention to the kids. She's dismissive with everything the therapist says, and once it all gets laid out, she has no recourse but to throw out personal insults and never return. We know Beth and the family, so when Beth rolls her eyes, or says things like "oh great, one of these, " it's easy to side with her, but she can never address what the therapist is actually saying.
